“Wish we'd stayed longer . . .”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

We (two couples) stayed at The Anglers Jan 16-17, 2013 as part of a birthday trip to Miami followed by a Caribbean Cruise.
We were booked to stay in another hotel on SoBe but changed to the Anglers at the last moment on a recommendation of our travel agent. We were so glad we did!
We stayed in a juniour suite which was very nice. Well equipped, spacious and very clean.
The public areas are very tastefully decorated and the outdoor areas are lovely to sit and have a drink and something to eat. We only ate in the hotel once and the food was good and appeared to be good value for money (compared to some restaurants in South Beach).
Last but not least - the staff were wonderful. They could not have been more friendly, with a genuine desire to help make our stay as perfect as possible.
I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in South Beach and wants to be near the 'action' without staying on the very busy Ocean Drive. (5 minutes walk).
My only regret . . . . we didn't stay longer!

Thank you for recently being our guest and for the rave review!

I'm delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us so thoroughly. It sounds like all went well and that you were able to truly unwind. I know the winter in the United Kingdom has been a bad one and am glad that we could be your tropical getaway. I'll share your compliments with all of the team.

We look forward to welcoming you home again soon.

Tropical regards,

“Stylish, sassy, service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

I booked this through Hotel Tonight at the last minute, so got a fairly hefty discount off the normal rates. When we arrived, our room wasn't ready, but there was no treating us as "cheap discount" customers - we were brought straight to the bar for a complimentary drink.

The room was fabulous, really comfortable, with great facilities and a really good size.

The service really was so very, very good, and in a fun, sassy, relaxed way that clearly has a lot of hard work behind it. Asking adviceon where to eat and what to do has rarely been as enjoyable.

The pool, though small, adds to the atmosphere, and was an oasis of calm off one of Miami Beach's busiest spots.

We also had Sunday brunch at the 660 (will review separately) which also adds to the enjoyment of a stay here. Sorry we only had one night, will definitely be back.

Thank you for the rave review and for recently being our honored guest!

I'm so glad that you were able to really get the Angler's experience. As you referenced, our staff is second to none and truly delight in what they do. The word "no" is not in our vocabulary and we strive to provide all of our guests the level of experience that we would wish for ourselves if we were on vacation. I'll share your compliments with the entire team.

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

This is supposed to be nb 1 but it is surely not so.
We stayed 2 nights and were given a suite ground floor with no privicy and no balcony. If you opened the shutters everybody could look in your room. Shutters had to be closed all day. We suppose it was a kind of transit room. Afterwards they gave us a room on the 5th floor (the only one there). At least it had a very small and dirty balcony facing an alley. The rooms are large and clean but you pay well for it.
We left the hotel and there was nobody to say goodbye. Just pay and go. Very cold. They can learn a lot from the Savoy Hotel.

Thank you for recently being our guest and for sharing the feedback from your visit.

I sincerely apologize that you felt The Angler's to be disappointing in any way. I would like to see if you would be kind enough to e-mail me at Jayres@theanglersresort.com so that I can get more information regarding your challenges at your convenience.

As we are in Miami and have two modern buildings, we do have hurricane impact doors that do have bamboo shutters. Our layout is different than The Savoy (which is actually our sister property) who has all interior hallways. Most of our guests enjoy our tropically foliaged coquina stone paver walkways but I could see it being a potential privacy challenge. Again, I apologize for the challenges that you encountered and we will evaluate immediately what can be done to rectify them.

Sincerely,

James E. Ayres II

“Perfect Stay in South Beach.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

I would like to echo all of the positive reviews below. My wife and I were away from our kids for the first time since their births and we were looking for a quiet retreat that would give us close access to the beach and the fun of South Beach. The Angler´s Boutique fit the bill absolutely perfectly. Our room was a studio king and was elegant, perfectly clean and most importantly QUIET!

The employees of the hotel were all genuine, warm and welcoming. Everything they did for us was with efficiency and a smile. We really enjoyed food, drinks and company at the Manager´s reception.

Many reviewers have complained about the lack of coffee makers in the room. THEY HAVE NOW BEEN ADDED, but honestly you are still better off going to the Aroma Cafe around the coffee. Great coffee and food. One other quick recommendation. There is a take-out place down the street called MyCeviche. The owner was the chef at BLT Steak and he started this tiny place. The ceviche and fish burrito tacos and burritos are out of this world. We ate there every single day and are still dreaming of the food.

Thank you Angler´s Boutique for a great trip. You will see us again for sure.

Room Tip: I was tempted to upgrade to a 2 floor suite but I think that the basic room was just perfect. When...

Thank you for recently being our guest and for the review!

I am so happy that you had such a wonderful time with us. We are proud of the coffee addition and hope that our guests enjoy the Keurig brewers as well as the gourmet selection of coffees and teas that we selected. Our staff works hard to consistently exceed our well traveled guest's expectations in the warmest and friendliest manner. On your next visit I would recommend that you try our chef's ceviche before heading out. He has won multiple awards throughout Miami for it including the prestigious Iron Fork award. We are very proud of our restaurant 660 at The Angler's and feel that we have one of the best restaurants in Miami Beach right in our own lobby.

We look forward to welcoming you home again soon.

“Great Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

We could not have been happier with our stay at the Anger's. Small hotel were you feel like the staff know you and want to help you enjoy the South Beach experience. From the front entry way, the restaurant, room, pool, etc. exceded our expections. Our room overlooking the pool with balcony was very clean and nice. Shopping, dining, and beach all within walking distance. Hope I have the chance to stay again. Thanks.
