5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2012

After a poor first nite on a last minute trip, my girlfriend did better with anglers. This has almost everything we liked...if it was right on the beach it would be perfect.

We checked out of our first hotel into a beautiful clean hotel with a great staff. Their is a reason this is the highest rated hotel in the south beach area.

Close to the beach but away from the craziness on ocean drive. Rooms are large and have a clean modern design. The room came complete with DVD player, iPod / iPhone dock and surround sound system. Wifi is free. Our room had several coffee table books including an excellent one on Florida modern buildings. On the downside the room (which I believe was supposed to have a 'city view') had a (detailed) view of the rooms in the other wing of the building a couple of yards away. We had to keep the curtains pulled most of the time to get privacy. The staff was very attentive, the restaurant is good and when you go to the beach you get a conplimentary bag with towels and bottles of water. You can pay for beach chairs at the reception but voucher is only good for 7th street beach. You can actually get the chairs cheaper t the beach down the street.
Pool is small and unfortunately completed surrounded by buildings - which means you only get direct sun when sun is directly overhead. In january the lack of sun made it too cold to hang out by the pool much. Overall I would come back again and would recommend this place to my friends.
Btw, the cafe next door - cafe del mar is a very laid back little restaurant that serves good food - much better than the overpriced and overhyped places on ocean drive.

Service, room, staff and restaurant all perfect. Let me elaborate on what a boutique hotel is. Small. Quaint. If you do not like this, don't stay here. The pool is probably the size of an indoor pool in someone's home. Almost no sun by the pool. This is if you like pools! Otherwise, grab a fully stocked beach bag at the front desk and hit the beach!
Other than that, the Anglers and the staff are all quite remarkable, this being my second stay, I would definitely choose it again when in Sobe. Also, you don't have the prices of the Delano or Raleigh here, and definitely similar quality.
Oh and its sweet and romantic and you can even dine in the private cabanas by the pool at night, its very nice. A bit of a walk to Espanola or Lincoln ave, but two blocks from the beach and ocean dr. I would definitely recommend the Anglers.

I can only confirm the general trend of the reviews of this hotel, located very close to the heart of South Beach life but in an oasis of peace and silence.
Perfect welcome, very personalized, your check in is done directly in your room.
Rooms are exceptionally wide, practically suites, very well furnished.
What it is nice is the atmosphere of small hotel, very classy and trendy, but with everything at your disposal, including a nice small external swimming pool and a quiet and elegant annex restaurant. Service level is at the top. At the end, considering the peak seasons, despite the prices are enough high the value for money is at a maximum level. A must !

The Hotel is a perfect blend of modernity keep the old time charm.
One of the best hotels i have stayed on my month long US trip in June.
Though the hotel is not facing the beach, but is very ideally located at the Washington Avenue. The rooms are just perfect, with their decor & amenities. Truly a Designer Hotel...!
The staff is very courteous and helpful.
The Food and Beverage options are limited but every item in the menu is made to perfection.
I stayed form 17th June to the 23rd, with my wife, and by far in our whole US trip, Miami has been one of the most memorable one, one of the key reasons being, a beautiful hotel like Anglers.
They have taken care of small things in the room for a leisure traveler, and in the most stylish way. The best thing being a Hi Fi in the room with surround sound, where guest can connect their I pods.

Room Tip: I took the corner suite, but the only problem was the morning noise from the road, which was not tha...

We spent five nights in Miami Beach at the Angler's Resort. We felt very welcome right upon arrival where we were taken to our our directly by Luis who gave us all the details and took care of the check in while we were already in our room. The room (King Suite) are large and really nice.

The service at the hotel was great from the room service to the restaurant and bar. It is always quiet and even if it was New Year's Eve week end, we did not hear anything at night and we slept very well. The pool is also really nice even if it is a little small.

The only downside was that the concierge was not really helpful when we needed her. She tried to convince us to rent a car to go to the football game claiming that cabs would be very complicated and would cost $200 round trip. She also said there were no shuttles from South Beach. We took a cab to get there and it costs $48. There were plenty of shuttles to get back and we came back for $30. I think that when you do not have a clue, you just say it. She also gave us very poor directions to wait for the bus for a tour we booked with her.

Other than this, this is a really great spot and we would return anytime.

Thank you for your recent visit with us here at The Angler's!

I'm very happy that you enjoyed all the resort had to offer. I apologize for the information regarding the taxi to the football game. As taxi's do factor in time waiting in traffic to the fee that they charge it could easily be more expensive than renting a car could be. I wasn't able to tell when your visit occurred but often traffic for the Dolphins games and the Orange Bowl is extreme. I will get with the staff and determine a fixed charge solution that doesn't involve you renting a car or driving yourself.

Thank you for your feedback. It's truly helpful.

Warm Regards.
