“Great location, resonable price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2012

My mom and I stayed at Baltic hotel in April 2012 for a couple of nights.Even though we arrived earlier than check in time, the room was ready for us in 5 minutes. We've got room#1 with full kitchen. The room was big, comfortable king bed, some antique pieced, big flat screen TV. You may hear traffic noise a little, since the hotel is on a busy street.Parking on the street and behind the hotel is free- we never had an issue. The hotel is close to the beach, restaurants, shops. They served fresh bread, cold cuts, cheese and coffee for breakfast. The owner is very personable. The only thing that seemed awkward was the grand piano in the lobby- taking too much valuable space.

This hotel is situated in lovely North Beach. The beach was never too busy. It's not far from South Beach where all the nightlife is, but if you plan to spend most of the time in SoBe, then maybe this hotel is too far for you. We cycled to SoBe, and the buses seemed pretty simple.

Lots of local amenities. Lots of restaurants and shops on Collins Avenue such as Walgreens, Ihop, Manolo restaurant, gift shops and many other boutique restaurants with sidewalk dining.

5 minute walk to the beach and also to Ocean Surf Hotel where we went to get picked up by a coach tour, and also a coach to Orlando.

Hotel itself was very nice, the owner is very sweet and helpful. Our room was a good size and the bed was HUGE. Could probably fit 3 adults comfortably! The microwave and fridge came in handy, although there was no kettle or toaster.

The beds were made every day and we received fresh towels every day.

There was a fan, but no a/c unit. We did notice a/c coming in through vents during the day but not at night and we had no control over it. We were there at the end of March and the temperarture was fine for us.

If I were to go back to North Beach I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed for 3 nights before taking our cruise, as many people seemed to do.

Situated on the corner of Harding avenue and 77th, a 12 room bed and breakfast style small hotel is ideal for those wanting to stay in the Miami Beach area at a reasonable cost.

We booked via Booking.com and upon arrival were given room 12. The room is large, bright with an en-suite bathroom and small walk-in cupboard containing rails for hanging clothes, a fridge and microwave oven. A large bed, chest of drawers, table, chair and large screen tv.

Our room overlooked 77th, this is a connecting road between the busy routes Collins and Harding. I have to say it wasn’t particularly noisy it didn’t disturb our sleep. There is a bus stop right outside on Harding that can take you to Miami Beach South and the shopping area of Lincoln road mall, a short walk (1 minute) to Collins and you can get a bus to Bal Harbour Mall, Aventura shopping mall or the large collection of strip malls on 163rd. It costs only $2.00 per person per ride, cheaper if you buy a day pass at $2.50 or a week pass at $13.00.

There are plenty of places to eat in the neighbourhood, supermarkets and even an internet-café although the hotel does have free Wi-Fi.

The owner was helpful if a tad flakey, most questions seemed to get answered, eventually.

One recommendation to the owner is to change to reception/breakfast area, at present there is a grand piano taking up valuable space and didn’t appear to serve any purpose. get rid of it and replace with some table and chairs, the breakfast arrangements are akin to a small bun fight with people grabbing what they could. It helps if you’ve been a rugby player.

I thoroughly recommend this hotel for all occasions and all ages, use it as a base and B & B (just to sleep, shower & breakfast) and like us you will be delighted.

Not an hotel with all the fancy facilities but nevertheless a great value for money small, comfortable lodging. Baltic only has 12 en-suite rooms all with enormous beds and if like ours incredibly comfortable. The room was spotlessly clean and provided all that you need for visiting the city of Miami or the beach which is a very short walk away.
Excellent location for easy access to down town Miami or South Beach via bus with a stop just across the road. Plenty of restaurants in the area most of which are of the less fancy variety and high prices of South Beach.
Breakfast acceptable but ambience and presentation could so easily have been improved.
All in all great value for money.

Room Tip: Speak to the owner, Christine, who is best able to help.

I stayed here in 2004&2006. They are in north Miami so a little far from the action in south beach. The beach in north Miami beach is a lot sandier than further down. They are a couple blocks from the beach.

The rooms are so quaint.

Price is reasonable too.

A car rental is a must if you are staying at this hotel.

Also there are not a lot of restaurants around, we had to travel to south beach to eat

I wanted a place for some quiet R & R and that's what I got! The Baltic is more like a B&B than a hotel - the rooms are comfortable with eclectic furniture and include a fridge and microwave. There is coffee and breakfast each morning in the living room and conversation with other guests. The beach is less than a block away and there are plenty of restaurants, as well as a grocery store, in the area. There is a small roof-top patio with chairs and tables. You can catch a bus to South Beach (about a 15 minute ride) right outside the door.

This is not a fancy place; the carpet is a bit worn and it has a decidedly "lived-in" feel - but the price is right and it is perfect for a vacation away from the crowds.

Room Tip: Best to call Christine personally and discuss what kind of room you want!

The Baltic is a small Hotel in North Miami Beach, literally a block from the ocean. The hotel offers the basics: not fancy, but clean, good beds, and a decent continental breakfast of meats, cheese, and various kinds of bread items. Note that there are only three parking places for the hotel and depending upon your arrival time, you may need to park on the street. However, it was not a problem finding a nearby parking space and once we parked the car, we took public transportation to South Beach. The bus stop is just across the street from the front door and we never waited more than 15 minutes for a bus--a most convenient way to travel in this congested city.

Christina, the owner of the hotel is quite helpful and very friendly and our stay felt more personalized, like being in a B and B. She also has a piano in the small lobby and one of her friends played each afternoon--a real treat and also good for wine-sipping in the lobby!
