“Wish I could give more than excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2013 via mobile

What a great place. This is the only place I have ever liked escargot. The prices are great but the food is to die for. The owner is super friendly and attentive. Words cannot explain how great this is. They are moving so be sure to check where they are. It is more than worth finding!

“Highly Recommended if Visiting South Miami Beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013

We had an awesome & reasonable priced French lunch at the Otentic Restaurant (Located in 710 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach, FL, 33139). Understand that they are relocating down the block to a larger location soon.

We started with their glass of Chardonnay and an excellent olive spread for toast. We had Escargots de “Bourgogne” which was served with homemade garlic butter that’s absolutely delicious and fragrant.

The Crepe was tasty but was too salty for our preference.

The Crème Brulee was really creamy and certainly left us with a really sweet aftertaste. We like the small but cozy atmosphere with comes with really prompt and warm service.

Otentic Restaurant is highly recommended if you are visiting South Miami Beach.

“Wonderful, oh so French restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013

We read all the reviews, and ever skeptical after being begged by people to write positive reviews in other restaurants, went with a semi-open mind. We were not disappointed. This small but authentic ("authentique" = Otentic, the French pronunciation, got it?) French restaurant has both great service and ambience It felt like we were in a little bistro in a small French village with cloth napkins and table cloths and a small glass of wine, gratuite, to greet you. We tried French Onion Soup (excellent!), quiche lorraine (a perfect 6" round of a pie), a provence salad (salade nicoise) which contained tuna salad, not a hunk of tuna like you sometimes find, the shrimp charlotte, good but different, you need to like lox and mayonnaise. One person had a platter that contained maybe a dozen little tastes of different dishes - that was fun, including trying to figure out what they were because of their artistic presentation. This was a delightful evening out and I would be a regular if I lived in Miami.

“Best European restaurant in town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

This place is truly a gem. As soon as we discovered it thanks to Tripadvisor City Guide this small, homely and friendly restaurant became the first pick during our stay in Miami.

The food is delicious. Roasted fish duo is absolutely great and their house specialty steak with mushroom sauce is truly out of this world. Should have had it all the time instead of going for farmer steak which is by the way also a masterpiece itself. Great pastas as well for those who are looking for some simple food.

Service is role-model - always attentive but not annoying. And every time we were immediately seated even if the place was all reserved.

Prices are reasonable and live up to the food and service quality. Classic farmer steak is 18 dollars, house specialty steak - around 25. In my beloved mother Russia or Angola you would hardly get a salad for this price.

The only slight minus for someone might be the bathroom - the restaurant is so small that they use the public bathroom of the neighbor building which obviously lacks glance to say the least. However you don't go to diner and spend it in the bathroom so for me it is not a problem at all.

All in all I would recommend this restaurant to everyone but especially to those who is used to the European standards of dining and service. When I came back to Miami Beach I would definitely lunch and dine in Otentic again and again.
