“fine classical music in an architectural gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

NWS is an academy for young but experienced orchestral musicians. Performances are throughout the season, are very reasonably priced, and are in the new Frank Gehry New World Center. Musicianship is excellent as is the venue and variety of music.

“A must do!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

We alsways schedule a visit to the New World Sumphony when we are in MB (also have just booked a tour of the facility which is also worthwhile). This year we participated in an interactive program which allowed us to vote on favorites using smartphone or I pad. The experience alone was worth it.

"Wow" is the perfect word to describe Frank Gehry's spectacular New World Center, where architecture intersects with wonderful music. From the soaring atrium, to the roof garden and the symphony hall itself, this building is amazing and the music that is performed here is just as amazing. This is a must-see (and must-hear !!) for visitors to Miami Beach and residents as well.

“Easy to stay awake for every note”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

The acoustics here are fantastic, and the venue is small enough that it is easy to remain engaged with the music throughout even a long performance. No chance of drifting off. There is also a nice variety of concerts at reasonable prices. The building is fun to visit and it's easy to get to. If you've been going only to the Wallcast concerts, come inside once and get the full experience.

“Whatever they do here, they do well!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

From Frank Gehry's fabulous design of the building both inside and out, to the many free or very inexpensive concerts, to 'Pulse', (their version of a nightclub), to viewing either oldie movies or screenings of ongoing concerts on the outside 3 story high wall in the garden...while relaxing on blankets or lawn chairs ( for free), the New World Symphony is a wonderful part of South Beach, Miami Beach.

I have only been here in the winter and believe this doesn't all happen year round, but anything you can do at the NWS, even to taking the tour of the building, is worth doing.
