“Lovely Boutique Hotel with Outstanding Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

We stayed for five nights in July and I will just be repeating everything that everyone else has said. It is a really great small boutique hotel in Miami Beach away from the noise and bustle of South Beach and yet easily accessible to everything you want and need. The rooms are on the small side, but they are well laid out. Skip the balcony rooms because you can't really sit on them and you can't really see the beach from them,in fact ours just looked into the condos across the way, so no privacy, no view, no real use. We were in one room, with a balcony and had an issue with hot water and the next day moved to a room with an ocean view, which I preferred. Javier, the manager, is a gem - we did not request the upgrade, but he simply arranged it. The restaurant is really fantastic, definitely have a dinner there at least once! Really some of the best food on South Beach! Our breakfast was included and was perfect -home made amazing croissants, delicious yogurt, granola etc. And the coffee was french pressed and really good! I have stayed at The Tides, The Ritz, Loews, and The Hotel and this is light years ahead in comfort, amenities, food, service and a sense of peaceful calm in an otherwise hectic place. The pool is lovely and you can actually swim laps if you want to. Always a chair available and wonderful beds in the shade! The pool and beach food is made to order and really delicious. The beach is easy to get to and the service is not too overbearing and yet available if you want anything. The one gripe I have is the additional cost of an umbrella on the beach - $25/day is crazy and I think the resort fee should just include the cost of the umbrella because, after all, it is Florida, and you are probably going to need/want one. At the Tides it is included, and they use the same Boucher Brothers service. The hydrotherapy pool is fantastic! And affords a great view! Not sure why some of the rooms are called "Lake View" as there is no lake, but Indian River is across the street. We ate a fantastic meal at Barceloneta, a tapas restaurant! Great service, wonderful food and drinks. Go and enjoy! The beach is pretty and you can walk way down in either direction. You can walk to Lincoln Road, not a bad walk, unless you are there in July and August because it can be pretty hot. We walked home after dinner and shopping later in the evening though, and that was quick, easy and safe. If you are going to Miami Beach, and want a more quiet and relaxed stay then this is the place for you! I would go back in a heartbeat!! Wish I was there now! Shout out to Jose, Domi, Raphael and all the staff for always going above and beyond to make you feel well cared for.

This is a lovely little hotel amongst lots and lots of various size and standards of hotels in the area. We stayed in a metropolitan king room and it was perfect for our needs. Ample space for bags and clothes, mini bar, huge TV, amazing bathroom, quiet but perfect location on Collins Avenue which is good for trendy bars, restaurants and the Miami nightlife. The staff here were friendly and helpful but not overbearing. We received a lovely welcome letter from the manager which was a nice touch.
The pool and facilities were perfect. I would say charging for beachfront umbrellas and chairs was a bit excessive but i think this is how it is in Miami. We also had breakfast here one day which was nice but not worth the $80 charged. All in all, this was a nice trendy spot, we loved the decor in the room and the hydro pool area upstairs was pretty cool too as you get an amazing view of south beach.
The only other comment I would have is that the bar here looks great but has no atmosphere. A couple of times we came back from dinner hoping to grab a cocktail but it was closed. It would have been great if the bar area was a little more lively so that it was somewhere to go if you didn't feel up to spending a small fortune in one of the bigger resort bars close by.
I would still recommend this hotel and would consider staying here again if i return to Miami. The location was perfect and it is a cool spot.

Metropolitan by Como is just fabulous. I have stayed at Lowe's, The Delano, Shore Club, Ritz Carlton, etc and I absolutely love this newly renovated hotel. The pool is relaxing and beautiful with chic design and chairs in sun/ shade. The bar service is exceptional and the beach is just lovely. There is a sand bar so you can walk far out or rent a paddle board next door for some exercise. The roof deck solar pool is also amazing at the end of the day to unwind and watch the sun set. Room was very comfortable and I was so relaxed here. Javiar and Sam, the management team were always visible and making sure our stay was beyond our expectations. Constantine always greeted us at the front door and took care of whatever we needed. Our bartenders and pool/beach staff also made sure we had plenty of towels, drinks, water, and the lunch is just delicious and healthy. We had such a wonderful stay and look forward to coming back to the good energy and pampering at Metropolitan. It far exceeded our expectations !

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights the week of July 24th. We loved the property and the service and the restaurant on site was excellent. I would highly recommend this place if you like a mellow atmosphere but want to be close to south beach. It was about a mile walk to the Art Deco district. Beautiful renovation of the in interior.

Came here to relax and destress.....based on trip advisor reviews...this was the place....Spot on.....The hotel is elegant and classy..the food was to die for....and the pool service (included) Is something you'd have to pay extra for like Vegas VIP service....friendly staff........Can't believe some of the picky reviewers....Breakfast price was high....but you're getting fresh squeezed fruit juices, the freshest fruits, pastries made in house by pastry chefs, coffee served in a coffee press....if you like the finer things in life come here...if you want to save a buck the red roof in will keep the light on for ya....YOLO......

Room Tip: Any room is fine.....I hardly looked out the window.....

Dear Fitedoc,

I greatly appreciated reading your review of your recent experience with us, not only on our hotel experience, but on the Traymore Restaurant & Bar TripAdvisor page, as well. Thank you for taking the time to share your visit with us and all fellow travelers.

Service is never something you should pay extra for, but rather an expectation we want all guests to have that decide to spend their valuable vacation time with us in Miami Beach.

I shared your comments with our pastry team who was humbled by your remarks. I can ensure you, our light will always be left on for you!

Looking forward to your return.

All the best,

Myself and hubby recently stayed 3 nights. As in other reviews, I concur that the staff is suburb as well as the roof deck, it's view and the steam room. Had buffet type breakfast included and it was quite tasty. Had few problems getting towels, coffee, glasses replaced after they would clean room which was odd. Had to make request at front desk and directly from room cleaning staff and still did not always succeed. The valet parking at $38/ day is a tad high, even timeshares in Manhatten charge only $30. We would swim in ocean and come back poolside because we too felt the $25 charge for renting umbrella was ridiculous.
Liked the size of the hotel and the location. Not sure if television had HBO, maybe not.

Room Tip: We were on 3rd floor which was fine, if with kids are doing a lot of back and forth to room you may...

Dear lizko1,

Many thanks for taking the time to leave an honest and thorough review of your stay with us. I greatly appreciate hearing of some of the minor inconveniences experienced so that I may directly follow up with our housekeeping and in-room dining teams and ensure re-training where necessary.

Our product we continuously work to ensure is of the best quality delivered in the best way possible and I am glad you were able to experience this during your visit. The companies that manage our valet and beach services, like most on Miami Beach, are outsourced companies, so it becomes difficult for us to manage their pricing, but have ensure that your feedback is properly passed along so we can determine a more creative solution.

Overall, was a pleasure having you on property and greatly look forward to you and your husband's return.

All the best,

Sam Eisenman
