“Excellent stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

Stayed at the Satai for an extended period while in town for business. The decor and atmosphere is very serene and tranquil. The staff was professional and helpful. The rooms are well appointed, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The shower is awesome. The pool area consists of 3 separate pools (all different temperature) with a large amount of of lounge areas available. The beach is right there and the private area for the hotel is excellent with plenty of lounge chairs and an attentive staff. The gym is small but sufficient and very clean and although I never used it, the spa facility looked nice with a professional looking staff.
The breakfast buffet is expensive but there are plenty of choices. The only thing I didn't like were the pancakes and french toast which is not made fresh and sitting out on a platter. The breakfast buffet gets very busy during the weekend so I would suggest getting there as early as possible. The complementary newspapers at the buffet are also a nice touch.
The only negative thing that stands out was the turndown service which sometimes showed up as late as 11 PM when I was consistently already settled in for the night and I sent them away more times than not (like I said I was there for work). You would think they would have figured it out and done my room earlier. The housekeeping, room service and maintenance staff were all very good.
Overall it was an excellent stay and I look forward to returning.

The Setai is the classiest hotel in Miami - zen styling, quality materials throughout and a relaxing pool area - a great place to get away from the madness of the rest of Miami. We stayed in an entry-level room in the Art Deco part of the hotel, and whilst we didn't have a view to write home about I did particularly like the granite style bathtub incorporated into the banquette - a nice touch. My wife and I stayed in the Setai for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon.

We loved the hotel. The room and hotel were perfect, the hotel food was amazing with a great choice at breakfast and the location is great.

A few down sides - 1 or 2 of the staff seemed a bit rude but the rest were great. The breakfast is very expensive, luckily it was included as part of our package. The pool area is very busy, so get there early to get a seated area.

We would definitely go back.

my experience from The Setai is a little different than you viewers could expect. i have been invited from a friend who owns an apartment :-) although i don't think that makes any big difference cause all the services and amenities were the same, i guess. The Setai is a big plus for South Beach, amazing friendly but formal friendly personnel, (Delano, to sense the difference feels like "i am your buddy friendly" type of behavior), both acceptable :-), great cocktails at the bar, presentation of the dishes....years of light in advance...top cuisine...A plus for my taste, Indonesian personnel in an students exchange program, there were 23 of them in The Setai. if you have been in Bali (all were from Bali, i think), you understand what i mean, polite, professional, with a true smile and attitude with pride. 3 different pools, overcrowded on Bank Holidays but the beach is so close. probably The Setai have the best lounge chairs and sofas from the hotels around it. Complimentary wifi on the beach, very kind personnel and very good service. my orders were completed and in my hands before i question my self if its late :-) if you can afford luxury, The Setai is for you.

Room Tip: about rooms, i dont know, i was invited as i said in a residential apartment. i didnt use the spa, i...

This Hotel is one of the best we experienced so far. It belongs to the Leading Hotels of the World chain and has an excellent service standard. Only few steps away from the ocean. Eventhough our room was City View, it has all the comfort of a first class Hotel.3 pools with different heated water.
We will be back for sure!

Room Tip: They have 2 different buildings. If you book Ocean view you will be accomodated in the new one. The o...

We loved our stay at the Setai. We are a couple that enjoys peace and quiet and all-around relaxation while on vacation. The Setai offered just that. Everywhere you walk, you felt like you were in another world. It has a very zen feel to it. I would not recommend this place if you have any children on board with you, as there aren't many things for them to do. It was occupied mostly by adults when we were there. There are 3 pools and each of them have sunbeds that you can relax on and they are very private - it is very romantic. The rooms were astonishing - very modern/contemporary feel to them. Our room was also very clean - they have a nightly turndown service. The staff here is also very nice, they are always ready to attend to any of your needs.

All I kept hearing is that I HAD to stay at Setai and if i couldn't i should at least get a drink at the bar because it was SO AWESOME...but was warned there was no way I would get a table at their restaurant because it was, again, so divine.
So, i went for a drink and ...whomp whom.
It was dark.
It was quite.
It was boring.

This place almost killed my Friday night mojo.
I tried their Chili passion martini, which was awesome, but the bar staff were terrible. Not friendly and not helpful...it was more like a Hollisters than a chic bar.

Oh....and the restaurant was totally empty...not that I would have ate there anyway :)
