“Nice property, Iffy service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

The Hilton Cabana's location offers very nice beach access even if the beach chairs are a bit squeezed together. Our room was rather small and housekeeping was awful! They didn't clean the counters, leave clean glasses, nor leave extra toilet paper. When customer service was contacted, they said they would pass info onto the housekeeping supervisor, and nothing was done. After 3 days of this I spoke with Elizabeth who was eventually to get us clean glasses and TP, but failed to deliver on her promise of breakfast upgrades and 10000 HH points.

The hotel seemed to be managed by young wannabes who have not yet developed excellent customer service skills.

But in spite, we enjoyed our stay. The food and drink is a bit pricey, parking at $35/day is steep, as is the $20/day resort fee, but it is Miami, you get sunshine and a nice beach for the price.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views, third floor rooms open onto a busy pool, could be real noisy.

I rely on TripAdvisor for all of my trips and there are ALOT of fictitious reviews posted in the past week, to get the ratings up and wipe out the previous poor reviews. Here are the facts, as we just checked out, this past Tuesday. First, this hotel is only ten stories high and it is literally wedged in between two high-rises. The layout of everything is terrible. You want to stay in the main tower, only! The Cabana tower is a separate building set up like a motel! Also note, if you are there for sun, there are two pools and they are both shaded by 1:30 PM (prime sun time). The chaise lounges at the lower level pool, literally sit in dirt and patches of long unmowed grass (see my pictures). Also, for this being a brand new hotel, the chaise cushions are already filthy because the hotel only allows ONE beach towel per person. We tried to get a second towel (one to dry off with and one to cover the chair with) and they said, "only one towel per guest", even though you pay a $20 resort fee to cover chairs and towels. They said that they did not have enough towels (and the hotel was less than 1/2 full). Now, to the rooms… we booked a PREMIUM "High Floor" Room with an Oceanview Balcony. It costs more for a higher floor, as there is no view from the lower room floors. When we booked our room, we noted in our reservation that it was our Anniversary and we were looking for a private room. When we arrived at the hotel early, we were very pleased when they advised us that they upgraded us to an Ocean Front Balcony room and our room was ready! The "upgrade" was a 3rd floor room in the Cabana building, that opened up to the pool. Highly an upgrade, as these are the cheapest rooms and the room didn't even come with a balcony. The hotel was DEAD, with plenty of room options. We went back to the front desk and a true oceanfront/balcony room conveniently opened. They put us in Room 624, which "looked" nice, but the room was unbelievably small. There was no room to put anything. The bathroom was AWFUL. I would expect luxury at a brand new Hilton "resort". The bathroom sink was literally a powder room sink with NO space to put any toiletries or even a hair dryer. The shower was the cheapest tiny shower head (no luxury here) and it didn't even have a built in soap holder. Instead, it had a 2" corner wire rack screwed into the wall and the tiny toiletries that they gave you kept falling through the slats, onto the floor. Overall the construction in this hotel is so poor. The faucet in the bathroom sink was installed so close to the rim of the sink (see my pictures), you couldn't wash your hands without water spilling everywhere. The bathroom has zero counter space and no bathroom size mirror. The bed was soft and cheap. And the pillows for a King size bed were not adequate. The walls were so thin, we could hear our neighbors normal conversations, tv, etc. We actually had to knock on the wall, when we came back from the beach and heard the cleaning people talking and carrying on at a crazy level. We didn't complain because we were happy that the hotel was brand new and not crowded. But, the newness is going to wear off by prime vacation time, as it's already showing wear and tear and the hallway carpets are already filthy, as well. On a positive note, the beach guys were excellent (Lesmar) and the food was good, as well.

Room Tip: Book a "tower room". Stay away from the Cabana rooms. Also, note, not all "oceanfro...

This completely re-done facility fits very nicely in Miami Beach. Lots of design details to make the stay enjoyable - two pools, restaurant with outdoor dining and bar, very modern rooms with ceiling fans and tiled baths. Great location if you don't want the South Beach pace 24/7.
As mentioned by others, the food is excellent. Some local flavor and some items popular in many places. Every item we tried had that touch of someone in the kitchen that knows what they are doing. Don't forget to try the breakfast buffet in the restaurant - it wasn't widely advertised.
I saved the best for last, the Beach. This location comes with quick access to the paved "boardwalk" that starts just north of the property and winds its way for miles. Chase, Oscar, and Victor were amazing and made us so comfortable we decided to spend entire days on the full-service beach. Many professional staff to compliment: the wait staff, the pool staff and best of all Manny at the front desk. He attended to our every request. In fact, being such a new property, he was swamped every time we saw him (which was every time of day or night) yet he never failed to help us. Give this Hilton a try if you are ready for a Miami-style experience.

Room Tip: As with any Miami hotel (or NYC hotel) the rooms with the best views are smallest. If you don't...

I stayed here briefly a week ago. It was my first time staying in Miami, as I am normally just travel through on my way to and from other destinations. I love how the hotel sticks with Miami's all white theme. The lobby smelled so fresh and lemony. The room I stayed in was crisp and all white as well. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Miami. It's close enough, were I got to Ocean Drive by cab in 15min but far enough away from the hustle and bustle where I got to enjoy the pool and beach in peace. I will definitely be back for more fun and sun and Miami and will stay at the Cabana Hilton.

This is a fairly new beachfront Hilton located in a more upscale section of South Beach, so it's the perfect spot for families (and those looking for less "excitement") to kick back and relax on a lovely stretch of dedicated beach. You can score a cheaper rate through their website, so I suggest doing that rather than booking a room onsite. Be prepared for the parking and resort charges, though. Everyone from the valets to the cabana boys to the managers is super nice, and they really go out of their way to ensure that your stay is top-notch. We were upgraded to a junior suite which gave the kids lots of extra room to play when they weren't splashing in one of the pools or playing in the sand (the cabana boys put out sand toys for the kids to borrow). Unfortunately, we had a medical emergency, and the staff went above and beyond to help us get to the ER and checked on us multiple times throughout our stay. We ordered takeout a few times, and security personnel escorted the deliveries to our room each time which really impressed us. There's so much within walking distance that you can easily just park the car and explore the area. The room was clean, the bathroom was amazing, and the décor was contemporary but comfortable. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!
