“Expensive, but good food and great atmostphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2009

My boyfriend and I visited the Rendezvous twice on our trip. Both times were enjoyable. We ended up having the same server both times, he was very friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was amazing.

The first night we were walking along the beach side of Ocean Dr. and it started pouring. We decided to run across the street for cocktails and just happened to be across from the Rendezvous. There was a guy playing guitar there, which was great. Probably part of the reason we stopped there. Anyway, we had a drink each, both of which were massive, and it ended up costing us $60 with the tip. Insane, yes. But not completely unexpected.

The next night we walked down Ocean Drive looking for a place to eat and happened to stop there again for dinner. We ended up getting champagne on the house, which was nice. I had the lobster and my boyfriend had the filet mignon. The lobster was decent, but the filet was definitely the best steak I've ever had! He was cutting it with a butter knife and wasn't struggling! I still can't get over how tender it was. Next time we visit Miami, I'm going back just for the filet mignon. Cost us around $100.

Yes, the Rendezvous is very pricey, but keep in mind that you're on Ocean Drive in South Beach, Miami. Everything is expensive. If you're on a tight budget, ask before ordering, that way you don't spend more than you plan. The restaurant was nice and the food was very good, but was it worth the prices they charged? No, not in my opinion, but you're paying for the atmosphere. Still, I'd recommend a visit there. I was overall very pleased with everything.

“Great food, but $$$$$...never again!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2009

We couldnt find the restaurant a friend suggested so we ended up here. We were a table of 5, 3 adults & 2 kids....we ordered 3 mojitos ($75) almost passed out when the bill came; 2 soft drinks for the kids at $6 each!!!! Our bill was $260! We order pastas and simple dishes which I have to say were fantastic but way over priced. Thats Miami beach for you. Never again!

“Pricey but enjoyable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2008

Thank goodness I didn't happen to read most of the reviews before trying the Rendezvous. On a trip to Miami the week before Thanksgiving we didn't have dinner plans so we just walked down Ocean drive and were accosted by someone from each of the restaurants we passed trying all sorts of gimmicks to get us to dine there. When we passed the Rendezvous a nice young man, Adam, asked us to come and dine in the restaurant and even though they were offering 50% off drinks Adam promised us free drinks if we would eat there so he could be our server. We did and our food was excellent. The crab cake appetizer was delicious. We had the scallops and the crab ravioli main courses and the Lava cake for dessert. All were wonderful. The service was perfect. We never had to ask for anything. If Adam even thought we may want something it immediately appeared at our table. The Mojitos were very good and were indeed free. With the built in gratuity our bill totaled $125 for two people. That amount included an appetizer, 2 entrees and a shared dessert with coffee. The food quality was great. The service was perfect so all in all we thought it was worth the money and would certainly recommend anyone visiting the area try it. Look at the menu and prices before dining. It is posted at the entrance to the restaurant for everyone to see. If you can't afford a nice meal then try elsewhere (maybe Denny's is more your speed) but if you don't mind dropping a little over $100 for two people for dinner then give it a go we think it is worth it.
