Probably the most expensive restaurant in Miami, but well worth it!
Having lived on east coast for 50 years, it' sad to think that people are presented with Joe's Stone Crab as a fine seafood restaurant (in addition the vegetables were overcooked, old, and overseasoned. Keylime pie worst I've had in Miami). Waiter was extemely rude and actually asked me weither the credit card that I was using belonged to me. We were very disappointed since we had read reviews on Trip Advisor.
Worst dining experience in a very long time. If this restaurant ever had something, it has certainly lost it now. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
I was recommended Joe's by my Mum, who had been six months previously and raved about it constantly. I can safely say it lived up to the hype.
Arrived with a group of 7 others on a busy night and we were seated within 10 minutes, having been able to wait with a drink at the bar. The service was unanimously outstanding, from the barman to the maitre d' to the waiters. They went out of our way to help us, even creating a personalised dish which combined two of the main courses for one of my "hungrier" friends!
The food was AMAZING. I had the Alaskan Killer Crab claws and they were without a doubt the best crab claws I have ever tried. One friend had Killer Claws and Lobster, which recived a resounding thumbs up as well. A second friend had the Killer Crab / Stone Crab mix, and I can vouch for the fact that that was delicious as well. The salads, mac n cheese and hash browns all looked very tasty but unfortunately I had no room for them!
The atmosphere was nice - I can see how some of the tables are definitely better than others. We had an excellent table and if you don't like yours, just ask to be moved. I'm sure the helpful staff will be happy to oblige.
Great for a romantic meal, great for a group of friends, or great if you want to go on your own and eat at the bar.
10/10
If you are a crab lover, this is the place to be!
I walk to the restaurant in beachwear, was denied entry to the posh restaurant, but don't be disappointed, there is the takeaway outlet! Thinking that it was going to be a booth, but to my pleasant surprise, there were nice marble tables and chairs! For maybe half the price, i am enjoying the same food as pple in the restaurant! Furthermore, the relaxing and beach-goer takeaway outlet was a comfort to me!
Food - remember to go early say about 6, to check out the combo promotion. My boyfriend and i shared a combo set, consisting of 6 or 8 medium size claws, half a lobster, 6 cold oysters and a clam chowder - all for only USD 60!!!
If you ask me, this is one great deal!
Joe's Stone Crab! - i'll be back!!
Very tasty indeed - Joe's is a great place to go when staying in Miami. Professional staff who appreciate that tourists are the main business in the restaurant and are happy to guide you through the menu. You pay a bit for the experience but in my view it is worthwhile. If you also try and forget that you're on a bit of a conveyor belt (the service is highly efficient as they obviously depend on turning tables round quickly) it definitely adds to the experience.
Food is fantastic - quality crabs (why would you have anything else?)
