“get Stone Crabs anyshere else..”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

Extremely rude, seemingly entitled, wait staff. So overpriced that it is embarrasing to me as a Miami native. A stone crab tastes the same no matter where you get it, so do yourselves a favor and go elsewhere

“Great but expensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

Let me start off by saying this is a place you should try at least once just so you can say you've ate here - after all, they have been around for 100 years, so they must be doing something right!

In terms of the menu, only go for the stone crabs as this is what they are famous for (other items you can definitely get a better deal at one of the countless other great restaurants in Miami / South Beach). The stone crab claws did not disappoint - they are incredibly fresh & succulent, & the house mustard sauce simply adds to the flavor without overpowering the crab. This is definitely a unique taste of South Florida that you will not get anywhere else, a MUST try if you are in Miami. The key lime pie is also a classic, although I have never been a huge fan of key lime so I can only rate this as good. Price wise, eating here is a bit expensive but still worthwhile (definitely not for people who want to eat at a budget).

One thing to note is that they do not take reservations here, so go early! I came here around 19:30 on Christmas Eve and as expected all the tables were full, so I just opt to eat at the bar instead of waiting.

“very good restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

the restaurant closes during Aug and Sept. Make sure you order stone crab. not cheap though. 5 large stone crab claw is $49.95. The restaurant is very large. But make sure you want there early. I arrive at 6:30PM and there is no waiting. When we finish our dinner at 8PM, there is a long line.

“Expensive but Delicious!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

This was amazing, we got the asparagus spears chowder and conch shell balls to start, the conch shells and asparagus would highly recommend, the chowder was ok, but not a chowder in the traditional sense, more like a minestrone--you have been warned!!

Then we had 5 stone shell crab claws (large) between us - there were three of us, and this was definitely enough food for us all, we left very full!! The crab was delicious, juicy and expertly cooked RECOMMEND!!!
