“Worth the high prices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

We both love stone crab and were determined to dine at the most famous stone crab restaurant in the world. Generally we refuse to wait an extended period for a restaurant but with a no reservation policy, there was no option. There was a "20 minute"wait for a dining table but we were directed to a table in the bar where we had a drink and ordered one of the best and freshest calamari appetizers we have ever tasted. We were seated in the dining room in about 35 minutes but it did not seem to be a wait but an experience that was pleasant with good drinks, food and serviceThe stone crab dinner was excellent as expected and the service was good. It was very expensive but stone crab is very expensive everywhere, therefore, we expected it.As we departed, the host at the D.R. entrance thanked us by name; impressive.

“Excellent restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

Local friends had to call in a favor to get us a table at Joe's Stone Crab, but it was worth it! Excellent crab (already cracked for you, which was something new for this Seattle crab-eater), sides and desserts, and very polished attentive service. Best Key Lime Pie ever!

“Not What I Was Expecting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

For years, Joe's has been on my radar as a place to eat in Miami. I have to say I was somewhat disappointed. I went for the crabs so I was not let down, but if you go for anything other than crabs, the food is just mediocre. I was with a big group and for the half didn't get crabs, the food was just so-so. It is not inexpensive, so I would have hoped that all the food would be top notch. It was not.
The atmosphere in the dining room also was not what I expected. It was very brightly lit; I think they should turn down the lights a bit!

“Stone crabs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

Had a great meal. Didn't have to wait more that twenty minutes on a Monday night. We had a big plate of stone crab claws and hashed browns. Had two glass of their private lable wine that was very good. All the wait staff in tuxedos.
