We were seated promptly at our reserved time of 8:30 on a recent Saturday night. I usually avoid the bread that comes out early because I like to save room for dessert, but was surprised to learn the Tuscan steakhouse charges $14 for it anyway!
As it turns out, we should have ordered the bread to avoid starvation! Despite ordering fairly promptly, the only food we received from 8:30 to 10:00 PM was one salad caprese. After about an hour of waiting for our food, the server explained that she was checking about every five minutes in the kitchen, but she didn't know what was taking so long. We finally inquired with the manager as well, but it still took another half hour before our meals arrived. Even then, only 5 or our 6 entrees arrived, and the last entree and some of the sides arrived 5 or 10 minutes later.
The steak itself was fairly good, and the barolo wine sauce was very nice. Unfortunately, almost everything is overpowered by an excessively heavy application of gorgonzola: both the steaks and the vegetables.
Two of our dining companions had eaten at Prime 112 the night before, and it's clearly much better. We ate at DeVitos the next night, and despite spending twice as much at DeVitos, we were much happier with the evening. Mix-ups in the kitchen occur, but the response of management here was totally inadequate. Once they realized things were going wrong, the manager should have personally seen to it that our meals were fast tracked. He did not. Although they comped us a bottle of wine, all we really wanted was food. The service was so bad that the whole meal should have been a freebie. I now think I should have ordered pizza delivery from Pizza Hut to my table as a way of passing the time,
