“Nice place to visit and great sushi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2011

The sushi is fresh, it's located just a few minutes outside de hussle bussle
but a very nice place to visit. You can sit inside at the sushi bar or normal tables
or you can sit "alfresco" which is nice as well.

“Best sushi in South Beach, hands down!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2011

This little place is a hidden gem, south of 5th. Huge selection of really really fresh fish, local specials too. Try the lychee martini, citrus salmon roll, or the conch specials. Takes ordinary sushi to the next level!

“Good food but poor service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2011

We didn't try the sushi but the lobster there. The food was very good, and the location quiet (that part of south beach is the quietest in my opinion), but the service wasn't worth the price.
The waiter was sending texts on his cellphone even when taking our order, and seemed not to care much about customers. The Haitian assistant was way more pleasant. A mixed experience.

“Mediocre Sushi at High Prices”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2011

We live in South Beach. The area is filled with extremely good restaurants such as Prime 112, Prime Italian, and on a lower price scale, Big Pink. What do all of these restaurants have in common besides excellent food? They are all owned by the same company that owns Shoji. Unfortunately, and surprisingly, Shoji was the exception. The atmosphere is typical sushi restaurant. But the food was not only ridiculously over-priced, but with the exception of the steak appetizer (excellent), was totally mediocre. For two, with Sake, the bill was $205 for maybe three rolls, a few pieces of nigiri and three bottles of sake. For $205, go to Prime 112 or Prime Italian and have a great meal with wine. Its not that Shoji was bad per se -- just mediocre. It wasn't particularly tasty, creative, or fun. The sushi chefs at the bar did nothing interesting and were not particularly friendly. Coupled with prices that would seemingly be representative of quality, it was a big disappointment, and even though it is just down the street, I'd rather go to Lincoln Road 17 blocks away and eat at Daihaiku or Sushi Samba,
