“Good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

Talented chef, great food, very loud lively atmosphere, make sure you have TIME and reservations... Stayed at hotel, and was asked to eave our table at the bar as it was being "reserved".... Um, we are sitting here already and you decide to reserve "our" table for someone else??? I think not, thank you

“Please dont waste your $$”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

I was really disappointed having to pay almost $20 for fake crabs in my crab rolls. Really? The lobster was too salty and the rock shrimp was nothing out of the ordinary. Although good presentation, what you pay for does not reflect the quality of food. Go somewhere else ie Sushi Samba for a better experience.

“Sushi in 'South Beath”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

Advised by a hotel concierge to have our only dinner in South Beach at this restaurant in the SLS Hotel. We were looking forward based upon the reviews of their restaurants in Los Angles; it seemed it would be a different experience from the NYC sushi restaurants we enjoy, especially the cooked food.
The sushi and sashimi was exceptionally but the cooked food was a little disappointing (but try the sticky rich with tuna).
Since we had previously stayed at the SLS in LA, we should have considered eating at Jose Andres spanish restaurant. You need to walk through that restaurant to get to the bar over looking the pool (great bar) to get to Katsuya. When we left after dinner, the aromas in the Andres's restaurant were just heavenly. Next time in South Bech, we will try.

“Amazing array of flavors”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

We tried Katsuya for the first time and found it to be a wonderful restaurant. We were a table of 8 and this allowed us to share a lot of different dishes. We loved the crisp rice with spicy tuna, the beef skewers, several of the fish dishes (cod and striped bass) and the vegetable dishes were all good.

“Amazing”

If you want great sushi in South Beach this is the place to go. Everything we put in our mouths we loved. The saki menu was always very good. The service was neither great or terrible.
