Like several reviewers, this was my wife's and my first nude beach experience. Going off the reviews I read, we stayed close to the "locals". Everyone was very nice and helpful. Very few gawkers...they mostly walked by and kept moving. I even witnessed one local run some guys off that were loitering. We felt comfortable at all times and really enjoyed ourselves.

One note, while they are building the new bathrooms, females shouldn't go to the bathroom alone. The construction workers there are always watching for ladies to bother. They made my wife very uncomfortable, as they also did some of the locals.

The breakdown as I saw it:
50% gays
30% swingers (if they ask if you "party" and you don't swing...the answer is no)
15% couples
5% weirdos

Again, no one bothered anyone and everyone was nice...that is just a general break-down of what to expect. Lots more men than women...probably 10 to 1.

Great place to get rid of tan lines, plenty of room for everyone. Water was warm, Beach was clean, people were friendly yet kept to themselves. The unofficial mayor of Haulover and his feathered hat may stop by to say hello,fell free to ask questions about the beach if you wish. Food trailer shows up around 11:30 ish. Souvenir shop was not open on the Monday we went ,but was when we went back on Friday. You must try the frozen fruit smoothies...delicious!!!!! They also have wireless credit card machine in case you didn't bring cash. Need to add that all profits goes to keep the beach clothes free. My only complaint...Florida has miles and miles of beaches so why do some people go to the "nude" beach and wear bathing suits and shorts. Just seems rude to me.

It was the first time for my partner and I to go to a nude beach. We were reluctant at first, but the atmosphere was very nice and we found ourselves totally naked by the end of the day. We came back the following day, more comfortable and totally naked. I highly recommend this beach for the first timer (like us).

Spent a week here in mid-April and loved it. The weather was perfect -- high temps in the upper 70's to lower 80's, breezy enough to keep cool, water cool enough to be invigorating but warm enough to swim as long as you like. It's just like a regular beach, except most people are nude. All types of folks -- American and foreign, gay and straight, young and old, male and female, Anglo and Hispanic, fat and thin -- but very few children or teenagers. The beach is large, clean, and free (parking is $5 a day), and there are lifeguards, showers, toilets, umbrellas and beach lounge chairs for rent, and a lunch stand that sells hot dogs, hamburgers and beer. Go!

I stayed at the Newport Beachside Resort, a 12- to 15 minute walk up the beach or a three-minute drive. There is also a city bus that runs every 20 minutes or so that takes about 5 minutes between the hotel and the beach. The hotel is very nice, especially for families, but it's not nude or even topless. But with Haulover so close, that's not a problem.
