What an experience. I took my bathing suit off and never looked back. There should be nude beaches all over the country. It felt so good. The crowd was 75% male and mostly older adult. There were a couple of dressed teen aged boys walking around acting silly but nobody seemed to notice. The crowd was just intent on being nude and enjoying it. I was there for 3 hours and felt elated the whole time.

My boyfriend and I visited here last month, and it was a real experience. Like some of the other people here, we shared the beach with a big crowd of bare-naked people of every description. There were a few guys that were obviously cruising the edge of the beach for the sole purpose of getting their jollies, but the bulk of the big crowd seemed to take everything in stride. Unlike my boyfriend, I wasn't comfortable enough to swim or walk up and down the beach completely nude. We both had a lot of fun, though. If you're in Miami, go to Haulover and scratch "visit nude beach" off your things-to-do-before-you-die list.

I go down to Haulover every year I can right after the semester ends--usually mid-May or early June. There's one big difference--the water is much warmer in June, almost tepid (like bathwater). It's not as refreshing a dip as in May. But Haulover itself is a national treasure--a friendly, mixed naturist beach, great for families with kids. The northern end of the beach is unofficially gay-dominated, but that just means there are more men than women. No offensive displays of affection are tolerated at Haulover--gay or straight--which seems to make everyone comfortable.

My wife and I had a few days to kill in Miami and on a whim decided to go to Haulover. We arrived on a coolish Fri. morning and it was almost deserted. I half expected my normally prudish wife to chicken out, but in a short time she had 'opted' out of her clothing. As the day warmed up, around 150 people arrived, about 2-1 male to female. Saturday it was still cool and maybe 400-500 with the vast majority nude. The North end is predominantly gay men, the middle seems to be where most of the couples were. There were a few 'gawkers' but frankly they all seemed to be absolute 'dorks'. Sunday about 1,200 folks of every age, color, and body type were in evidence. As we left I was amazed to hear my wife comment that we 'needed to do this again'.
