“Ocean steps away!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

Amazing location. We stayed one night (overpriced Valentines Day $265+tx), in the third building behind the Mi Ami restaurant. Unfortunately our room (122) smelled like sewage. Rooms were fine; floor, beached/worn cabinets were fun, TV was tiny. Bed was't very cofortable. Free beach towels a plus. Staff were helpful, continental breakfast very basic. Best part was location: Ocean Dr & 5th Av awesome! Id stay again in a different room at a cheaper price.

old worn hotel with poor service. breakfast (if one can call it that) consists of a little dry bread and coffee is thin as water.staff find it very difficult to smile, and make it in general a very poor service. The price is too high in relation to quality.

We booked to stay here during the NFL finals (that we knew nothing about being from the Uk!!) so South beach was a very busy busy place!
Firsly this hotel is in a fab location, on SOuth beach, 2 mins walk to the beach, near all the restuarants and buzz of south beach, but just set back enough to escape the noise all night long.
The main entrance is bright airy and in the art deco style, quite grand and exciting. However we had to enter our hotel block through an italian restaurant a few doors up!! Small lift to dark corridor. Our room was quite nice, two big beds, wardrobe and sink and a seperate small bathroom with modern shower. Soft pillows, good air con and Lovely toiletries. Rubbish view over a neighbouring block so little natural light.
The rooms would be much nicer if decorated in the art deco style of the location rather than the dark wood!
Other guests were noisy during the night, banging doors and shouting etc
No pool however so near the beach this wasnt an issue. the hotel lend beach towels.
Yes they have a car park but its also open to the public so dont guarantee a space!!! Reception staff werent particularly helpful, happy or welcoming however adequate at their job!
I have little to say about breakfast that is included.....find somewhere else. It consists of orange cordial (gross) cheap cornflakes and coffee. Head elsewhere!!

All in all this hotel was fine for us, a short walk to the beach and other local restuarants!

stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in December 2013 and it has nothing to recommend it. The rooms are old fashioned and desparetly in need of modernisation.

We stayed in a room to the side of the main entrance (above an italian restaurant that we had to pass through to get to our room). The room itself had 2 double beds made of wood that were hard as rock so when attempting to sleep in them i had to turn over regularly to prevent aches and pains but when I did the beds made so much noise (wood groaning) that it woke my partner!
Also there was a seperate room with a shower (barely clean) and toilet but the sink was in the bedroom!

The air conditioning was an old machine that plugged into a socket but when turned on was too loud to sleep to so had to switch it off at night which meant it was stuffy.

No view other than a dirt road to rear and a dirty air con unit to building next door.

Finally there is not really an area to relax in at this hotel. There is meant to be an area set aside between the foyer and the restaurant but the restaurant block it off with tables for customers at night and use it for storing their oustide furniture during the day.

I would not recommend this hotel. It is dismall and dim and it definitely put a downer on our holiday.

We went to Miami for New years for 3 nights. We arrived at 7 a.m. and they were able to check us in early so we could head to the beach right across the street. We wanted to go out every night and the staff was excellent at letting us know where to go and getting us passes. The room was small, but nice. You just couldn't beat this location! We could walk everywhere we wanted to go. I would definitely return to this hotel.

After reading other peoples' comments we thought maybe we had made a mistake in booking our Honeymoon in this hotel, however, when we got there we realised that it was amazing!! Excellent location just away from the noisy loudness of Ocean Drive. The room was exactly what we paid for and there was nothing wrong with walking through the very small restaurant to get to the lift. We would stay there again.

Located on the southern boundry of South Beach at 5th Street and Ocean Drive, this small hotel is a reasonably priced option to it's expensive cousins up the street. On the plus side you are well away from noisy clubs. The room was large, comfortable and very clean. The shower stall was a separate tiled room which was a nice design feature. The only negative thing I have to say about this property is the cheapo continental breakfast. Orange flavoured Tang crystals, frosted flakes kiddy cereal, and white bread, with weak coffee. Either upgrade this breakfast or do not offer any at all, as this cheapo version is an insult to eaters everywhere.
