“Great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 days ago NEW

I stayed here for 3 nights, great price for probably the best location you can ask for, evrrything that you need is about 5 min walk. Very friendly staff and very clean and tidy. Great happy hour ( 1$ dollar for a drink of the day between 7-8pm )

Stayed at this hotel one night before a cruise and it was very convenient. Was able to check in around 11 am which was great. A little noise since the room was facing the main street but it didn't bother us since we just wanted a place to get ready to enjoy the Miami Nightlife and spend the night. The room was very spacious, the bathroom was a little tight for four girls but doable. Nothing fancy but it's worth the price. It's just two small blocks from the beach and about 5 blocks from the Lincoln Place mall. Will recommend if you are looking for a safe, decent and inexpensive stay.

Our stay here wasn't extremely bad but definitely not a hotel I would recommend or stay at again. For the location, what you pay for is what you get. The ladies at the front desk are slow and always had to wait in line for 5+ minutes at any given time. Just to get towels for the beach took forever. We booked a king bed and got two doubles. We were on the third floor so we didn't have a problem with noise. Our friends were on the second and could hear the people above them constantly. The floors in the rooms were hardwood so there is no filter to quiet noise. There are no black out curtains on the top two floors and the street lights are extremely bright shining in your window at night. Our ac stopped working in the middle of the night so we kept it off the whole next day and it worked fine the next night. The "free" drinks which are $1 were all ice and probably just half a shot. We sat outside and wanted to ordered a few at a time and she wouldn't allow us so every 2 minutes we would have to walk into the bar to get another drink because you are only served a sip. It might as well be called a free shot once all the ice is removed that's all you get, plus the juice to dilute it. Breakfast was a mess. Paid $7 for the bakery but then was told I could only have two pieces of toast and no croissant. The bellman was extremely nice, gave the hotel one higher ranking due to him. If you play it smart and get a room on the third floor away from Collins street and only stay in the htel to sleep, you have a deal to be staying in south beach.

Absolute worst hotel we have stayed in on our honeymoon. The staff at reception were unhelpful. The first room we were given was right next to the elevator that had paper thin walls... Not only could we hear the elevator itself but everyone talking and going in and out of it at all hours of the night no sleep at all. Then we were moved to a room that had stinky smells coming from the drain in the bathroom and the only other option for another room had two single beds!!!
For the outrageous price we paid to stay in this old, run down hotel we would have been better off staying at the airport hotel which is much nicer!! Definitely spoilt our time in Miami South Beach,

Don't spoil your vacation by staying at this hotel. The receptionist is very rude. She actually answered the phone when I asked about parking. She then told me that parking was $29 but was sold out of parking passes. So guest staying at hotel had to park somewhere else. I found parking about a half a mile down the street for $16 a day no free ins and out. Then had to walk bsck to hotel. Wow.
Also when I was checking out I went to get my car pulled into the parking lot and before I could get back to my car with my luggage the hotel put a tow away ticket on my car.
In addition, they never stated there was a resort fee for staying at hotel each day and never stated I was able to get free lounge chairs and umbrella at the beach.
Please do not stay here I am giving you a warning so you can enjoy your vacation.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to write your concerns. I apologize about the parking situation that occurred during your stay. We are limited to only a certain number of parking spaces but we do offer other alternatives for guests. As for the front desk, we strive in our costumer service and we will take the necessary steps to ensure this continues. We would hate to loose a great customer and we welcome you back one day.

Paper thin walls, constant street traffic. The bathroom was dirty and crumbling. After a sleepless night a coffee pot in room would be nice. The location is fantastic how ever even in South Beach a little sleep is needed..would not recommend.

Stayed here for one night before a cruise and would certainly recommend the Dorchester. It is ideally located and is very clean with good sized rooms. It might not be the most modern hotel in Miami but it is friendly and comfortable with a cosy little bar.
