After booking on Hotels tonight because of the good deal I was sorry upon arrival. Not only was it hard to pull up (took me three trips around the block as nothing was marked with a sign) and unload our bags, then find parking, but no bell man in view. I tried to find one to unload our 8 bags, (along with where to park), by calling but it seemed that I was transferred to the sister hotel and then back again! I finally was irritated and hung up.
Once inside. The clerk couldnt find my reservation, he instructed me to sit and wait. 15min later he finds it but wouldnt allow me to check in as my husbands name was on the booking not mine (he was at a conference)! At that point I dicide that I will do my work from the hotel bar/pool. The hotel charged for WiFI! Who does that?! Mc Donalds even offers free WiFi!
The next morning we wake just after 12p, after a long night, to the front desk ringing the room instructing us that check out was at 12 and we had to leave. My husband told the lady that we asked for late checkout the night before when we came in. At this point she proceeded to argue with my husband saying that the hotel is full and we must get out of the room. The arguing continued even after he gave the lady the night clerks name, as she was the one who approved it. I was gobsmacked that this lady was arguing like she was! I work in a 4* hotel and we would never Dream of talking to guests like this! It was appalling to hear how she talked to him!
Point being is that you think that youre getting a great deal but they will charge you for everything from parking, to wifi! That the price that we paid we could have staid someplace else and had free valet, bell man, and wifi. The Dorchester is just missing taking care of the little details that makes a stay enjoyable! They are now known to me and my husband as "The DORK-Chester"

Let me first of all apologize for not "WOWING"
you like we do most of our guest. It's always our goal
to go above and beyond to ensure maximum guest
satisfaction, and in your case, it appears we didn't pleased you.
We do have a bell man at our property and there are two seperate
drop off and pick up areas at our property: one clearly marked by
the City of Miami Beach " Passanger Loading Zone Parking".
Like in almost all hotels in the world, we can only check in individuals
whose names appear on the reservation, unless prior arrangements
are made with the person(s) on the reservation; obviously, this is for
security, privacy, and legal reasons, and this is why we couldn't check
you in a room with you name not being on the reservation. Yes, like
many hotels on South Beach, we do charge a very small one time fee
for Wifi but we offer internet service to all our guest for FREE in the
area our Business Center. Also, like in almost all hotels in Florida,
check in time is after 3PM and check out time is noon. We do, sometimes,
permit late check out depending on our expected arrivals and occupancy
percentage but ask our to guest to let us know the morning of their departure.
Almost all hotels in South Beach charge for parking, and our parking charge
is among the lowest in the area.
We do care about all our guest and hope that you will give us another chance
to show you that we are much better than the comments you made in this review.
