We stayed two nights and have no major complaints. The location is across the street from the beach; however, you get beach access thru the Marseilles hotel a short distance away. Everything else is within walking distance and we didn't get back in our car until we departed.
The Dorchester has a nice courtyard and a very nice pool. Parking ($29 night) is limited and self-park, but we had no problem getting a space. There is a resort fee ($10 per night) that covers Internet access and umbrella/chairs on the beach. This is really a deal as the umbrella and chairs would otherwise cost $40.
The room is clean and the beds are comfortable. Our room needed some repairs, but nothing major. The biggest downside is the lack of soundproofing. We were on the second floor and could hear people walking in the room above. The couple in the adjoining room had an amorous moment at 5 in the morning and the headboard banging against the wall was annoying. Fortunately, it didn't last too long!
There is no restaurant; however, there is a breakfast setup that is reasonably priced but severely understaffed. One guy was server, cashier, and busboy. He was a hustler, but definitely needed some help.
Overall it was a good experience and I would stay there again if in the area.
We purchased by bidding on Priceline at a 30% discount.

Thanks for commenting about our clean rooms,
and comfortable beds. We do have a preventative
maintenance program that is usually on top of
repairs but we pay close attention to your
observations and make immediate improvements.
Our rooms have above standard soundproofing provisions
and we will continue to evaluate whether we should increase
is a bit more. We always listen to our guest suggestions
and try to make improvements because here at the
Dorchester, it's all about you.
