Stayed for seven days of leisure and pleasure at the end of June. Entered this large imposing hotel thinking we would be a number not a guest but immediately made to feel at home at check-in. Given a lovely room on the 18th floor with a huge bed and fantastic bedding. Lots of space, drawers etc. All the staff without exception were friendly, helpful and genuine. Around the pool was very hectic and very hot. The beach had a wlecoming breeze which one made the most of, not only for the comfort but to get your money's worth out of the price of the rather costly loungers and umbrellas. Service both on the bech and around the pool was excellent and food and drink prices rather high but considering you could get everything delivered to your beach lounger it was worth it. Had a lovely meal in Emirils restaurant. Used Jerry's famous deli for breakfast just down the road. Loncoln Road shops and restaurants are minutes away. Some of the area in the opposite direction off Collins Ave is seedy and rather uncomfortable. Highly recommended and will return.

This was our second trip to the Loews after spending a week there in 2005 on our honeymoon, and it is still the exellent hotel it was then.

We stayed in a rotunda room with floor to ceiling windows and a view overlooking downtown Miami. Large spacous room with such a comfy bed! Bathrooms are huge with twin sinks and large shower.

The best thing that makes this hotel so special is the pool area. The attendents can not do enough for you, bringing ice water and sun beds are always available. In the afternoon, every hour something is brought round to guests, frozen grapes, cucumber for your eyes, evian misting, frozen sorbets.... this is so refreshng in the hot Florida sun, and a nice touch.

I have read a few reviews saying that the pool area is dirty.... All i can say is these people must have extremely high standards, as the pool is spotless and quite large for a South Beach Hotel.

Yes, the Loews is expensive (food round the pool, drinks etc) but only what you can expect anywhere else on South Beach, but you get what you pay for, and food and drinks served in the pool area are excellent.

We also looked at the Ritz Carlton, and the Loews beats this hands down.

You must also visit Emerils restaurant next to the Loews... food and service here is exceptional.

Overall, a very Classy hotel on South Beach in a great location.

Stayed at the Loews for a week as part of a conference. Had to admit, after reading some of the reviews here, I didnt have very high expectations.

However, I was pleasantly surprised. The staff, while not overly friendly, were nice.
The rooms were clean, tastefully decorated with nice fluffy beds. Soundproofing could be a bit better - you can hear the neighbours opening and closing their doors/closets.
The ipod docking station hooked up to the radio/alarm clock was a nice touch. Wish I had known before hand, would have brought my ipod.
Coffee maker also appreciated in the mornings.

A tip - if you're planning to sleep in or rest, make sure you put the Do not Disturb sign out. Housekeeping starts banging on the door from 9am, and throughout the day to restock the minibar, turn down bed etc.
Hotel can also be a bit noisy - in the week i was there i heard two separate domestic fights in the corridors at night. Didnt see anything tho.

This hotel is first rate. Service overall was excellent. Pool staff was spectacular, passing out complementary water and cold towels etc throughout the day. Pool area was very clean. Food around the Pool area was excellent and worth the money.
Rooms were small but very clean.
I would be very happy to return to Lowes South Beach and would recommend it to anyone.
Tip: I would park your car in the parking lot across the road. Charge is $16 a day. Hotel charge $31.
