I just returned from the Lowe's and honestly, the only complaint that I have is that the walls in the rooms are too thin so you could hear everything going on next door to you. Luckily, we had quiet neighbors, but still, it was a bit annoying to hear other toilets flushing and TVs on.

Other than that, the staff is amazing. They catered to our every need, and didn't beg for tips (as I'd read in a few reviews here). I really loved the pool area and all of the little special things they did during the day. The concierge was also extremely helpful, and I can't even say how much I love the location of this hotel. We walked EVERYWHERE.

Great to be back in Miami Beach, it's been a few years. This is my 3rd visit staying at the Loews and it did not disappoint! The grounds were beautiful as always. The service was fantastic. The room was excellent. For location, you can't beat it. Yes, the food is a bit expensive, but the portions are plentiful. The nice thing about the Loews is that the pool area and the beach area are both easily accessible and enjoyable. One note, do put towels down on loungers in the morning to avoid not being able to get a seat. If you do not go back within several hours, you will lose your seat, but if you stop by every once in a while, no problems. Definitely the best location in South Beach. Also, self park across the street in the garage for 1/2 price of the valet if you aren't planning on driving much. Valet is $36/day.

Visited Miami with my family for Easter vacation. Loews Miami was in a great location. It is within walking distance to the Lincoln Rd. shops and restaurants as well as the shops and restaurants on Ocean Ave. The beach outside of the Loews Hotel was beautiful and the hotel staff was very friendly. Food and beverages was very expensive at the hotel. Valet parking is $34 a day - so if you are going to be just staying in the South Beach area, a car rental is not necessary.

We stayed at the Loews Miami Beach for a long weekend in April 2009. The Loews is a beautiful hotel in the heart of South Beach, within easy walking distance of many restauarants and the Lincoln Road Mall which is a large open-air pedestrianized area of several blocks. The pool is large and very pleasant (maximum depth is 6 feet, so need to watch your little ones). There is no water-slide, however. The hotel is also right on the (very nice) beach, where umbrellas and lounge chairs are available for rent.

The rooms were clean and spacious (we had 2 connecting rooms, one with a balcony). Each room has its own thermostat. My only complaints about the rooms are that the safe was not large enough for a notebook computer, and there was only one sink in the bathroom (I know, I am spoiled).

My main complaint about the hotel as a whole is the large number of smokers. Of course smoking is no allowed inside the hotel, but on the way to the pool you will encounter many people smoking. Several people also tend to sit right on the edge of the pool and smoke, not just cigarettes but also cigars. Several times there seemed to be a cloud of smoke floating above the pool, which (being a non-smoker) I found quite unpleasant.

Also, one day we rented a pool cabana for the princely sum of $450. Comfort, privacy and food and drink service! Yes, and also someone smoking a cigar not far from the entrance to our cabana, so that we were continually bothered by the smell of cigar smoke blowing into our little paradise. Obviously this hotel wants to attract a younger crowd and has a liberal (outdoor) smoking policy, but do beware if you have young children or are bothered by cigarette or cigar smoke.
