We revisited this hotel as we had such a good time last year.
Perhaps not such a good idea, things had changed, the hotel was extremely crowded, and therefore our room was a bit disappointing, not really a sea view as described, and there was a shortage of sunbeds around the pool.
Kids were also sorry that the welcome pack had been stopped and they were just given a voucher to download music ( it did'nt work in the UK) also the sweets that used to be left on the pillow at 'turndown' had been discontinued.
Overall, the location is still great, but service levels have fallen.

My husband and 2 sons stayed for 4 nights in early August. The hotel is beautiful and impressive! Loews was more expensive than some other hotels on South Beach but the extras really made it worth it. Plus I found a great rate online.
The room was spacious -- everything was provided, cozy robes and even a large umbrella to borrow in the case of rain. The pool was lovely, and the fact that it was open 24 hours was great, since we tend to be night owls. Plus there were 2 hot tubs/ The pool has cold ice water available and the staff come around during the day with little treats -- cold face cloths, iced grapes and other snacks. The hotel leaves pool towels out after their cabana closes. The pool area was crowded, though, but it was easy to find chaises and the staff was very helpful in moving umbrellas to shade those of us with fair skin. Another reviewer complained about the "time limit" on the pool chairs -- but, I didn't mind that, figuring that if I were to be gone longer than an hour, my seat shouldn't necessarily be saved. Easy access to and from the beach, which was a real plus, so that I could stay by the pool while my kids went to the beach. The beach itself was grand -- and is on a really nice stretch of south beach.
The hotel also offers some fun activities -- I took two complimentary yoga classes that were great.
We all enjoyed the international flair, too, with guests from all over the world. Plus the hotel is within walking distance to everything --- Lincoln Road, Ocean Drive, etc. And the walkway behind the hotel goes all the way to 5th street and north forever!
The staff were incredibly friendly and nice. I can't wait to go back!

we booked a city view with 2 double beds and requested a room in the tower...we got what we asked for...the beds we're really comfy and clean...im a neat freak...housekeeping are very fast cant complain...

Mini bar is complete but be very careful its pricey plus theres all kinds of charges

The food at prestons really good...excellent service...

The nautilus bar makes the best mojito ever...beach service is great

My friend called me from our room and i was just at the lobby we talked for exacly a minute and 12 seconds it cost us 15$

theres a 500$ lock down on my credit card for 3 nights...i think its too much

theres all kinds of fees...18% gratuity...ok normal in south beach...20% and 9 % restocking fees and service fees in the minibar...room service also have all kinds of fees...

But other than that Our stay was perfect!!!

A friend & I booked a weekend at the Loews for her 40th birthday.

Pros:
- Lobby had an amazing scent - felt like you were at a spa.

- Comforter/bedding was new & good thread count

- Good location if you want the true tourist experience -- be sure to walk to Gansevort Hotel for a drink at sunset on the roof

- Nice that you can order food/drinks from the pool or beach.

Cons:
-Maybe this is just policy in South Beach, but I hate the idea of having to pay $25/day for a beach chair and umbrella! Note: If you plan on renting a beach chair, get there early! You pay the same price regardless of when you get there (they close at 6pm) AND all the good chairs get taken early.

-We had a noisy, screaming child in the room next to us. We were woken early every morning because the walls are very thin.

-Pool was nice, but very very crowded. And, the water was warm (ie. not refreshing in August).
