“fabulous stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

my husband and i went down to miami for a long weekend. i was a little skeptical of staying here because it seems like a very kid-friendly hotel, and we usually tend to stay at more adult friendly hotels. but it was in a great location and looked really nice. the only time you really notice how kid friendly this hotel is is when you are in the pool. they had noodles, rafts, tubes, water guns, etc. they even have water activities for kids. this was the one and only drawback(for us) to this hotel. other than that, the lowes was totally amazing.

Room Tip: ask for a high floor.

Stayed for 2 nights during a trip to Florida, should have stayed longer as the hotel and location was absolutely perfect.
The room was fantastic (partial sea view) with champagne and chocolate strawberry's on our arrival. The beach and pool services were fantastic with the staff very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere around the pool on the saturday was amazing with live music, cocktails and plenty going on.
Would definately return.

I really should raate thios 4 1/2 stars because there was only one glitch that prevented it from being a 5. We had purposely booked a premium king room because it stted ocean view instead of a less expensive partial ocean view room. When we arrived, our room had a partial ocean view. When we complained the person at check in told us that a full ocean view was called oceanfront and would cost more. Although he did give us a $50 food credit, it is something to be aware of.

Otherwise the hotel was terrific. The lobby is beautiful and the pool has plenty of chairs and the service people were accomodating. You can go right to the beach and third party folks will rent you a cabana for $50 for the full day. The location is great easy walking distance to Ocean Drive and Lincoln Road.

the hotel was very very nice you are greeted by a slew of concierge people to help you get your bags. They have a really nice bar and restaurant on the inside, the pool area is breathtaking fresh towels nice infused water with fruits. They came around and I offered miss for your tan they offered coconut water to us. The food and the drinks were a bit overpriced I think. The hotel room was nice we had our own Keurig coffee machine, but who really needs such a big TV in their room. Most people don't go on vacation to sit in their hotel room and watch TV. I was surprised that there wasn't even a small mini fridge or a small microwave in the hotel room that I had gotten actually in a smaller Hotel in Hollywood. I think the price for the rooms was overpriced for what you got.

I've stayed at this hotel a couple of times and I still enjoy it. I've stayed alone with my wife and relaxed at the beach and enjoyed eating at Emeril's . I've also have stayed with the kids and they love the pool area. The hotel has great service and still to this day one of my best spa experiences where here at the Loews so if your thinking of staying here take the plunge you'll love it.

Dear Acrespo79,

We are happy to hear you are a loyal guest to Loews Miami Beach and appreciate your review of your recent stay. Unfortunately as I am sure you know Emeril's is no longer a part of the family at Loews, however we are thrilled to welcome Lure Fishbar which will be opening in Fall 2013. We hope you and your wife will come try it and let us know how you like it.

Your words and encouragement is so kind and much appreciated. We thank you again for sharing your thoughts with us, and look forward to hosting you and your family again soon!

My husband and our two preteen children stayed at Loews for a week in March. I had some concerns about the hotel after reading previous reviews, but I decided to take a chance on it because I got a pretty reasonable rate. I'm glad we did. As for the resort itself, we enjoyed the pool and beach. Yes, it was crowded but we always managed to find lounge chairs. The one day we couldn't find chairs, they gave us tickets to cover the cost of the chairs on the beach. The pool was nice, heated, but still a little cool. The hot tub was overcrowded unfortunately, but this was spring break season. There is another hot tub, but it looks like it is reserved for special patrons who pay for that feature. The food and drink service at the pool and beach were excellent. The food was excellent too. The prices were a little high, but not outrageous ($16 to $19 for most meals, including seafood). We were impressed that at least one of the servers remembered our names the two days later. When it comes to resorts, the standard that I compare every resort by is The Breakers in Palm Beach. I still have not found anything that matches the space and luxury of that resort. If your main goal is to enjoy a resort with quiet pools, family pools, lap pools, serenity pools, then in South Florida, you want The Breakers. HOWEVER, with that said, sometimes you want more than just the pool and beach resort. In this respect, Loews was perfect for our family for this trip. We were just a short walk around the corner from Lincoln Road and numerous coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, art galleries, and pharmacies. We visited the area every night and always found a delicious dinner and plenty to do. The Desigual shop with clothes from Spain was a great stop for summer dresses, tops and skirts, all of which were definitely the kind of souvenirs to remember a South Florida getaway. My daughter also loved getting a behind the scenes tour of the Britto gallery and seeing where Britto had done much of his work. There were many other noteworthy places; this is just a small sample.

As for the accommodations, our family did surprisingly well in a room with two double beds. We were trying to keep this getaway on a low budget, and it was doable. Though, if our budget for this trip was bigger, I'd have preferred two connecting rooms. The rooms were kept clean and serviced a second time in the evening upon request. The movie selection was great. We also rented a refridgerator for $30 for the duration of our stay, which was great for keeping water and juice ready for any time of day. Oh, one important point is that you must lock up your valuables in the safe. We usually do that about 95% well, and we never had a problem when we accidentally left out a piece or two. In Chicago, New York, Dominican Republic, Dallas, D.C. (various places), we have left out a ring or earrings and after a room cleaning, they were still there. Well, not so at Loews. It might be a Miami thing or maybe a Loews thing, but my daughter left out a new shiny pair of Ralph Lauren earrings (that looked expensive but fortunately were not), and they disappeared. We called lost and found and anyone who could check, and those earrings are gone.

In the end, we didn't go in expecting the same level of service as a five star Four Seasons or The Breakers, but we also didn't pay that kind of price. We were extremely satisfied and are planning to return to the Loews Miami Beach some time soon.

Room Tip: If you don't want to pay for the full ocean view, you can still get a decent ocean view in some...

Great location, and nice hotel, but nothing special as luxury properties go. The pool is fine, but nothing special (neither adult and exotic nor fun and kid-friendly). The rooms are clean and nice, but a pet-peeve is the sliding glass bathroom door that doesn't lock and sheds light and noise. Awkward if you are there with anyone other than the most intimate companions.

If you expect expert concierge service, forget it. 2 out of 3 whom I spoke with were unhelpful and didn't seem to know anything. When asked for dinner recs, they could only offer a pre-printed map and list. One concierge, Daniel, stood out. He was knowledgeable and helpful. For it's price, the Loews really needs to step it up a notch in service.

Room Tip: Balcony w beach view is nice

Dear Taninger,

Appreciate your recent post regarding Loews Miami Beach Hotel. We pride ourselves on being the Hotel in South Beach for all guests and all occasions. I'm disappointed to hear that you experienced some unfortunate situations with service at the Concierge during your visit and will follow-up with our team to ensure this doesn't happen again. We have several dining options available on property, and will add a new restaurant, Lure Fishbar, later this year, however the printed map provided has an accurate count of our proposed restaurants for dining out of the hotel. We apologize if your stay was anything less than you expected. Thanks again for providing insight into your stay. It is much appreciated.
