“Great value for money given the location and super friendly staff!!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012 via mobile

The location is perfect: two blocks from Lincoln.
Front desk staff: super friendly. They helped me arranging shuttles and with bus directions - always with a smile!
Room: very spacious. Could be a bit more cleaner, specially the sheets and sink. The internet is fast and free. Although close to Lincoln room was extremely silent what is great for a good night sleep.

Attention to: (1) if you need microwave be aware rooms do not have one (at least not the one I stayed in) and (2) you'd rather ask for the ground floor as there are no elevators

Hello and Thank You for writing a review on the Delores Hotel. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay here with us. Our staff is very friendly and always willing to assist. As for the cleaning, That is not the level of standard that we have here, all rooms are detailed with fresh linens on a daily basis. I will look into this serious matter... Thank you so much for such kind words and we look forward to having you stay here with us in the near future. Best Wishes and Safe travels.

“Not reallly good”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

The only good thing in The hotel is the location. We found cockroaches in our room twice. Old furniture, no elevator, bad cleaning. I would not recomend since you can also find other cheap hotels at same location. Staff was friendlly.

Hello and Thank You for taking the time to write a review. I apologize for the time you had while staying with us. unfortunately we do not have an elevator nor are we allowed because it is historical property/Art Deco building. However it is only 2 floors and our front desk is always helpful in assisting the guests with luggage, boxes, and or any packages. As for the cleaning, I will further look into this serious matter, that is not the standard that we keep here at The Delores Hotel...We thoroughly clean all the rooms on a daily basis and we send out the linens to be dry cleaned on a daily basis so that all rooms come with fresh and clean linens every day. I will further look into the issue that you had..we hope to have you stay with us again. Best Wishes.

“Boutique art deco blocks from all the action”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

The Delores is a small hotel, in an old art deco building on Collins St, two blocks from Lincoln st shops, and just one block to Ocean Dr.

The lobby is small and functional, service on check in was fast and efficient, rooms are renovated, and comfortable, there are fridges in the rooms and cable tv.

For around $100 a night this place is good value, although avoid room 2, it opens onto reception!

Room Tip: Avoid first floor rooms if you have lots of luggage, there is no lift

“Unappealing!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

Ok, there are some good things about this hotel like its location Collins Ave, its just a block from the beach and tourist reservation center but that is it. The hotel neither has guest parking nor valet parking, only a few spots of street parking right in front of it but since its located at Collins Ave, you would know that its not easy to get a street spot. Public parking is available about 2 or 3 blocks from the hotel and valet parking is $25 per day. So if you are coming with luggage be prepared to walk. I booked a small suite and got a room at first floor. The room size was just apt for two people, cant imagine how small it would have been if I had booked a regular room. The hotel rooms seriously need a makeover as the room appearance is extremely poor. Furniture was very old and shabby, room had a wide closet space with a safe, ironing board etc. inside.I got a queen bed with clean linen though. Poor air conditioning when its so hot and humid. Extremely weak WiFi, dirty old flooring, kitchen area was poorly lit, they only give a small fridge and a coffee maker. The room has a small flat screen TV whose remote didn't work even after changing batteries. The bathroom was very small, shower curtains old and rusty shower drain, holes in rug etc. Housekeeping was ok. Talk of continental breakfast..whatever, I didn't even care!! Overall the room quality doesn't at all justify the price paid. It doesn't appeal to you specially if you are there on vacation to relax and enjoy. Skip this one in my opinion!

Room Tip: I doubt there are any good rooms here.

Hello and Thank You for taking the time to write a review on your stay here with us. I deeply apologize for the unpleasant time you had here with us. We work very hard to make sure all our guests are happy and comfortable with our hospitality. We do not have parking at this location, however we do have a parking space right in front of hotel so one can unload their luggage easily at the hotel, so there is no need to lug their luggage around..also we offer parking one block away at our sister property. We have many different room types and sizes that may have accommodated your needs so please next time you are here with us if you are not satisfied we will be more then willing to show you other options in which I am sure you will be content with. Best Wishes

“My new SouthBeach haven”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

I vacationed in South Beach thinking the worst about this hotel unpon my arrival, after reading reviews. They were obviously written by people that have no understanding about the styling of the Art Deco hotels. I was really impressed because this hotel has a really nice contempory decor. It was so zen, peaceful and relaxing. The room was small, staying with the typical Art Deco design. Well worth this visit and I will stay at this location for visits in the future. I didnt have a problem with room service, concierge, nor receiving my beach towels, Catherina even offered a beach umbrella.

The mattresses on the platform bed were OMG soft. I pulled the linen back, so that I could WHAT I was laying on. The mattress was soooo soft. I slept through the harshesh part of Hurricane Issac with no problem.

There was a room safe, iron, ironing board, two, yes two handheld hairdryers, toiletries, clean sheets, swept floor and daily room service.

The continental breakfast was exactly what was to be expected, muffins, juice and fruit. The breakfast setup was conveniently located in the main hallway, so you don't have to get completely dressed for breakfast.

Conveinance is the name of the game with this hotel. It is around the courner from Espanola Way, a block away from the tour reservation shop, 2 blocks from Loews Hotel, and one block over from the beach (you can safefly cut through the alleys, instead of walking around the city block. There is a $9.99 buffet around the corner on Williams St., with a miniMart next door, AND there is a Walgreens coming soon.

I felt very safe staying here alone. I decided to sit on the porch one early morning. The gentleman that was working the front desk, slid his chair over so that he could keep and eye on me. (awesome!!!!!)

I will definetly be back! My only negative is that I wish that there was a customer rewards program.

Oh yeah!!!! I left my bottle opener at home, their "sister" hotel waiter opened it for me with no problem. And he refuse to accept a tip! (awesome!!!!)

Room Tip: The standard room is you typical 13x15 bedroom with a full size bed. You have to really LOVE the per...
