“Best party hostel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2011 via mobile

Stay here of you really want an awesome party nightlife (hostel boys bring guests out to VIP parties and limo party buses). Close to the beach. Nice atmosphere. Free and really delicious meals made by Mama. Friendly staffs like John and Kouki rock socks! Close to the beach. The perfect hostel.

This place has amazing staff. That is the first thing I noticed about it. It is run by people who love their jobs, who are professional, very helpful and who like to hang out with international people. Whatever I needed, I asked and got it. They want you to feel like at home, and in my case, they surely succeeded.

I stayed here with a friend in a six-bed female dorm room. The room is really basic. It is well air-conditioned, has its own bathroom, and is very clean. It is cleaned twice a day. The beds are old, the sheets are not stunning, but everything is clean, and that is really the most important. You are not going to spend that much time in the room anyway.

The hotel lobby is always full. There is free Internet in the lobby, hostel guests are allowed to bring their own food, their own drinks, and drink/eat at the hotel lobby, or outside, or buy cheap drinks at the hotel itself. The liquor store is just around the corner. The best pizza in the whole world is at the corner (Rustic Pizza). Food at the hotel is free of charge! They serve all three meals, on the "first come, first serve" basis. Breakfast is a continental breakfast, which I am not a huge fan of anyway, but lunch and dinner are delicious. Lunch is usually some pasta, and dinner is more substantial. Mamma is doing great job making delicious food :)! So, you pay about $30 for accommodation and free all three meals.

Hotel staff always organize something for the guests: every evening they offer free or at discount tickets for popular Miami Beach clubs, sometimes they offer free beer in the lobby, etc.

You can take anything you need for the beach for free: sun umbrellas, balls, and other things you can use on the beach for fun.

And, I have to mention the location. Just two blocks away from the Miami Beach. Perfect, really.

If you are traveling on a very tight budget, if you want a place with a great location, lots of interesting young people, lot of fun and on top of that you want to feel like at home - this is the way to go.

I went travelling with 3 friends last month around the United States. As this was an expensive trip, we booked the Miami Beach International Hostel in March...approximately 6 months before departure.
We arrived after a 5 hour flight from Las Vegas to be simply told that there "had been a plumbing problem" and we would not be staying at the hostel. There had been no prior warning whatsoever despite us having access to e-mails and the hostel having our e-mail address and contact details. We were absolutely appalled to then be told that we weren't staying because "girls don't like to share a bathroom" when we had previously ordered 2 x ensuite bedrooms. It would have been nice to have been given the option rather than simply be told we did not have a room anymore!
When my friend asked if we were getting our money back she was told "well you did only pay a deposit"...obviously our fault the room was not secured!
Another member of staff also looked up and rudely said "If they want money they're going to have to wait" despite this being their mistake!
The lady half heartedly then explained that she had called another hostel and that we would be staying there and that they were expecting us. We arrived at the new "hostel" only to find out it was a hotel and they had no idea who we were, let alone having a room reserved for us! He explained that the hostel did this all the time and he even guessed the plumbing maintenance problem as an excuse as well as saying that 2 boys had turned up complaining of the same problem!
The hotel we ended up staying in, although clean and central, did not have meals included like the International Hostel and did not have the party atmosphere we would have hoped for in a place like Miami.
We were disgusted at the attitude of the staff and their lack of apology and compensation despite 2 e-mails to the hostel whilst we were on holiday, as well as the fact that a paid deposit did not secure a room with them...disgraceful!

Room Tip: Do not believe that your room is secured simply because you have paid a deposit...they will move you...

I'm in my mid-20's and this was my first stay in a hostel. I thought it was pretty good and the staff was very helpful and friendly. It is very affordable. Located in the heart of party central South Beach, one block from the beach. I stayed in a dorm with 6 other girls from all over the world. 2 from France, 1 from Switzerland, 1 from Brazil, 1 from Canada; so many languages in 1 place. The room was pretty clean and it was cleaned twice a day. Of course the cleanliness of the rooms vary with the occupants. If you are a college student or used to dorm-styled living with rowdy roommates; this hostel isn't far removed. If you need dead silence to sleep bring ear plugs. If you need privacy and don't like be woken up at 6 am by your drunk dorm mates coming in from the club get a private room for a little more money or get a hotel. The people there love to party-hardy. This place is for the young and care-free crowd.

Book a different hostel if you want to sleep or come to Miami for an easy Beach Vacation.
The drinks are much cheaper and they organize to go out every night. Make sure you get lots of drinks before you go, Miami Nightlife is a rip-off! There is a 7-Eleven next door which sells Alcohol and staff had no problems to drink it in Lobby.

It was def not the cleanest hostel that I have ever visited. However, they had tons of free meals (and beer!) and the location is amazing. They held my valuables too behind the desk which was nice. Close to the beach which is key. Why else go to Miami???
