“A Special Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014

The Sagamore is beautiful, and rather small with 91 rooms. It is intimate. All the staff will know you within a day or so. The people who work there are "gentle", meaning polite, intelligent, soft and soft-spoken. I loved it and stayed in a BUNGALOW which is a two-story suite, spiral stairs connecting, and two balconies. The first level of the suite has a small kitchenette with stove top, micro, coffee maker, tea kettle, fridge. If one wants pots, pans, dishes, etc., they will be brought. Mine looked as if it had never been used. There is a sleeper sofa, chair, small table with two side chairs, big screen TV, sound system and the balcony has table and chairs. Upstairs in a lovely suite with king bed, fabulous pillows and linens....REALLY amazing....chair, bench, desk/work area. Closets up and down. The upper balcony has a table and chairs also. The bathroom has the toilet/shower separate from the sink/tub, with various sets of door so that if you have people or kids sleeping downstairs, they can use the facilities without ever disturbing you. The place is QUIET. One one side is the Ritz, the other the National and the Delano. Perfect location. Pool heated and very warm, plus pool and beach service. All around gorgeous gardens. I have friends in Miami who work in another very popular 5 star hotel (Downtown Miami and much more expensive) and they all LOVED the Sagamore and couldn't say enough good things. If you want to honeymoon, this is it! If you want to party, this is it! If you want to bring your kids and let them have their own space, this is it! Plus a very nice art collection all over the hotel....and doors and windows that open to let in the fresh ocean breeze.

Room Tip: Choose a 2 story bungalow if you want luxury! and a place to entertain!!! They overlook the garden...

LuvLoro,

Thanks for sharing your review after your recent visit to Sagamore. We are very happy to hear such great feedback especially in regards to our staff.

It seems as the bungalow suite was perfect choice for you as you took full advantage of all of its ameniteies. The kitchenette can come in especially handy when staying either with a family or for an extended period of time.

We hope you will make sagamore your new hotel of choice here in South Beach and we look forward to welcoming you back many times in the future.

Best Regards,
James D'Agostino

This was an extremely nice Art Hotel in the heart of South Beach. Location couldn't be better, walking distance to Lincoln Road, 100 feet off south beach. Staff was coureous, knowledgeable, and the rooms were fantastic. we stayed in the bungalow, which was huge, and slept 5 comfortably. Thank you so much, we will be back!

EastCoastTravelBuddy,

Thank you for your review of Sagamore. We are glad you enjoyed your couples getaway here with us.

The bungalows are a perfect option for couples sharing a suite as the separation from the bedroom upstairs and pull out sofabed downstairs provide the right amount of privacy yet also have the added benefit of a terrace or balcony to enjoy as well.

We hope you will be back soon and we thank you again for choosing Sagamore!

Best Regards,
James D'Agostino

The Sagamore is pleasant, the staff will go out of their way to assist in every way, the pool is shallow and filled with children, and music drifts over from hotels on either side.

This is an "art" hotel, filled with all kinds of interesting creativity. The rooms are large with good beds and a balcony on many. Bathrooms good, but show signs of some sloppy painting and caulking.

With bare floors, sound carries if someone closes a hall door too hard. Beach is great and crowded. You have to go out the hotel gate, cross a bike, walking, segway path to the area reserved for guests.

There is a tiny fitness center with no machines or weights for anyone but the most physically fit and strong.

I booked an ocean view suite, but with the palm trees, I could only see a tiny patch of ocean.
Still I liked staying here - it has a nice feel and the people make it good.

Room Tip: Stick to the high floors - preferably the top floor, unless you want a room that opens on the ground...

SagHarborAlice,

Thanks for your feedback after your recent stay at Sagamore. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your experience here with us and that our staff was able to make you feel so at home.

We apologize that your ocean view suite fell short of your expecations, as we would have loved to have the opportunity while you were to relocate you to a suite on a higher floor which may have been more to your liking.

We are glad that despite several small hiccups, our staff was able to make the difference and make sure that your overall stay was enjoyable.

We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back and provide you with an even better experience.

Best regards,
James D'Agostino

We had a terrific suite with a small balcony overlooking the garden path to the pool. Roomy clean good fridge micro freezer. All good. Pool is small and crowded area surrounding. Lobby is empty wasted space not welcoming. There is no coffee bar or open bar near the lobby..only at the pool half the time we thought the hotel was empty. Evey other hotel on that strip of Collins was filled with activity bars, nice scene...I
sagamore dead. Weird. Why they don't put Ina bar or espresso spot, or put out a breakfast display, something. We never wanted to eat there. But we did have lunch it was ok but pricey. Beach scene was excellent. Terrific helper, Akbar made a point of helping us with chairs towels umbrellas. Super nice. Ocean pretty. For a weekend getaway on AA it was fine. Next time we try another, maybe the James down the street.

My husband and I wanted a little respite from the cold Boston weather and must say we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The front desk staff warmly welcomed us everyday and was attentive to our every need. The staff was exceptional especially Vito and Greg at the pool, Mickey at the pool bar and Kevin Waldstein, the hotel manager. We needed assistance with the air conditioning system in the fitness room and Kevin was extremely responsive to rectifying the situation and concerned about making our stay enjoyable. We liked the size of the hotel, the location and the rooms and the experience was as advertised.

Ideally located in the art deco district, close to Ocean Drive, Lincoln Road and Espanola Way. Smaller Hotel with dedicated personnel (especially head concierge tatsiana@sagamorehotel.com). Art hotel with a lot of stunning objects. Contrary to neighbouring locations, calm and cosy. Direct beach access with hotel only area. Nice pool and garden. Rooms are spacious and well equipped (however, mainly with king size bed only).

Room Tip: Rooms to the south (close to next building) and west (Collins Avenue) are not so recommendable; ocea...

HOW71,

Thanks for sharing your review of Sagamore. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay here with us.

We are glad you took notice of our staff’s attention to detail and personal service that is very difficult to duplicate at other properties. Being a smaller property allows us to focus our attention on our guests individually and make sure each and every one leaves with an experience such as yours.

We are glad you found your room comfortable however please be in mind for the future that we do have queen size sleeper sofas in all of our suites and we also have suites with 2 full size beds as well.

We thank you again for choosing Sagamore and look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Best Regards,
James D'Agostino
