If you haven’t been to the Stage Door Theatre it is a place not to be missed. Being missed is easily done for this off-off-off the beaten path theatre located at 500 71st street, Miami Beach, between Byron and Carlyle Avenues. Currently running Side by Side by Sondheim a musical review with some twenty four (24) well known hit tunes performed exquisitely by a cast of four accompanied by two pianists. The theatre is known as Stage Door Theatre troop performing at the Byron Carlyle Theatre. This venue was recently restored to it original Art Deco past reflecting Miami architecture with new seats, lighting, carpets, bathrooms, and a current sound system. Not many know of this sparking diamond in the rough as the advertising budget must be very limited as everything goes into the production. The next show will be The World Goes Round from February 1 -24, this will be an outstanding retrospective of Kander & Ebb songs, including such favorites as "Mr. Cellophane," "Maybe this Time," "Cabaret," and "New York, New York" which are seamlessly interwoven into a passionate, harmonious, up-tempo evening of musical theatre.
