“Great location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013 via mobile

From the moment we arrived we enjoyed our stay. Will and Natasha @ the front desk staff were warm and friendly. The room was quaint and cozy. The location was awesome, parking was affordable. Will stay here again!

Stayed here in late January and found it to be an overall good experience. The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. The location is excellent. It is a block away from the beach and there are many good restaurants nearby. We were able to easily walk to all of the South Beach attractions. The room was clean, although we did not receive fresh towels daily. There is a nice kitchen and living room area. The bathroom was clean and the bed comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at the Hotel 18 because of its proximity to the convention centre (we were in Miami Beach for the boat show). The hotel is nothing fancy, no amenities, no pool, not even Kleenex in the bathrooms, but it's clean and the bed was cozy.

From a hotel-ratings standard it's more like a two star, but Will, Alex and Robin are the greatest concierges we've ever met which raised this star rating considerably. Thank you to all three of them - gracias por todo!!

There are lots of nice restaurants in the immediate area, and it's just outside of the party area on a quiet street. If you're renting a car, be sure to reserve a parking spot as soon as you make the room reservation. Parking spaces for the hotel are extremely limited, and we ended up feeding the street meter for two days before a hotel space opened up. Again, we felt that the boys at the concierge were extremely helpful and were earnestly trying to get us out of our parking dilemma. First-class staff!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

My husband, baby and I stayed in a one-bedroom apartment (room 207) at the hotel for 4 nights (booked through Expedia) in February and had no complaints. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Many positives:

- Any staff we came into contact with (front desk, housekeeping, etc.) were super friendly and courteous.
- All areas of the hotel were very clean (reception, steps, courtyard) and there was always a caretaker hosing and sweeping the courtyard throughout the day.
- The room was spotless and was very spacious. Decor was very modern and updated. There were nice flatscreens in both the living room and bedroom.
- A crib (playpen) was already in the room for our baby and when we asked for our bedding to be changed, they changed the bedding the playpen as well.
- The hotel was very quiet the week we were there. The bedroom was even quieter. We slept perfectly.
- The hotel has beach towels they lend out if you don't have your own.
- Location is amazing, on a quiet street just off Collins: 2 short blocks to the beach in one direction, 2-3 blocks to Lincoln Road in the other direction. We felt very safe and the surrounding streets were very clean.
- FREE wi-fi in the rooms, free PC in the reception area to print your boarding passes.
- You can come and go at your leisure through a locked gate at the side of the hotel without passing through reception.

Honestly, I can't really think of any negatives. Don't believe the previous review of this being a "poor motel standard" and something like student hostel. It is not AT ALL - at least not if you take the one-bed apartment and not just a standard room.

The bed was too soft for my liking as I prefer a firm mattress but that's more a matter of personal preference. It was still quite comfortable and we slept well.

Room Tip: Get the one bedroom apartment (we were in room 207) Ask for a room further away from the street if...

This hotel was nice & clean & included a stove & mini frig. It is close to the beach, shopping & restaurants what more could you want. The only complaint I have is that the room is kinda of small but that's usually the case for hotel rooms. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at here 2 nights before our cruise by recommendation from our travel agent . Hotel 18 was very nice , clean and Will at reception was so good to us. We loved that it had a fridge and dishes for our leftovers. beautiful courtyard for relaxing, close to beach, Lincoln Mall and other great sites. Would stay there again.

We stayed at Hotel 18 prior to going on our cruise. Was very nice even had a kitchenet, fridge and dishes if you chose to eat in. Nice outside area for relaxing. Would stay there again. We would use this hotel again when visiting Miami. Two blocks from the beach.
