“Beautiful location/ not too shabby”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012

We went during Ultra Music Festival in March of 2012 and I can't believe I forgot to put this one in... everything was pretty much booked already, so we got this charm for 100+ per night, which isn't bad for Miami. Free parking, wi-fi. All rooms have a balcony. There was a sink, mini fridge, and microwave too. It was spacious for a standard hotel room. The carpet wasn't shiny and new, but I already expect this knowing Miami. Our location was nice and safe. Easy access lobby and to the room. No noise on our floor and we hardly saw a peep until we got downtown.

It looks nice from the outside besides the poor stray cats abandoned across the street. Elevators were fine, the hallways absolutely reek of cigarettes which is strange because they claim to be a non smoking resort... at first look the rooms are very nice. If they actually cleaned and maintained this hotel it would be a very fine place to stay. The balcony and view is beautiful. The setup is very nice and the bathroom is nice. However, the carpet is incredibly disgusting, stained and has not been cleaned in ages. The bathroom had a dead cockroach and droppings on the windowsill soon arrival. I spoted about 7 live cockroaches in the room from 4pm until 9pm. I layer I. The bed and the headboard reaks something disgusting I sprayed to rid the smell and pushed the headboard away from the bed. We were having problems getting the dvd player to work and the staff was very reluctant to help us. The cord provided for it was not the proper cord. They charge a $15 service fee for god knows what, the phones don't even work. Sad excuse for what could be a nice place if someone actually took care of the place. Horrible. Disgusting.. dirty. Cockroach infested.

I booked this hotel at a really cheap rate and I thought I had got a great deal bc the pictures and location appeared to be perfect BUT looks can be deceiving. Upon arrival we noticed that the parking area smelled and looked like a sewer. But my gf and I decided to give it a shot, worst decision ever. The staff was rude and we were sent to their "sister" hotel because they were "booked." But the funny thing was that there were only 4 cars parked in the parking structure, including ours, so im assuming te other 3 cars belonged to the staff. But anyways, The other hotel was walking distance so we walked to it and we were horrified at the surrounding area. From their online description the hotel was supposed beautifully located by the beach but in fact it was in front of a abandoned building infested with stray cats. There were dead cats everywhere and the area smelled bad. The sister hotel: Casablanca was a tad bit better but the staff was completely rude! I would never never never NEVER recommend this to anyone not even if I hated them. Point of the story fork up a few more dollars and stay somewhere better so you don't ruin your vacation. Oh and it's nowhere near south beach!

Came here expecting more for our last day in Miami. We had stayed at a lower priced place first two nights and wanted to stay closer to the beach. Arrived early, front desk allowed us to store our bags while we went to lunch. Discovered pool was closed. Also, the advertised restaraunt/bar shown in pics was closed as well. Looked like it had been for a while. The room was very clean and I will say nice. Discovered the next day that toilet was plugged. Girlfriend walked down to use work out room restroom. View of Ocean was obscurred by beach front hotels. Picture in ads showed clear view. This must be a time share property. Good access to local bus service (In front) About 15 minutes to South Beach. Aside from no pool access, no restaraunt/bar and failed toilet, I gave the bed an "A" rating and location a B. Overall I'd say it was a B for a three star Hotel (Paid $100 for Thursday night). Call ahead and ask if Pool/Bar and other listed amenities open, I did for lower priced hotel and they told me pool was working (It was) an there were nearby restaraunts and bars *There were). Don't trust Online info.

Room Tip: Call ahead and confirm all is available that is listed in ads (Pool working/open, Bar/restaraunt ope...

The hotel is very old and the bedroom was dirty. We were there for 3 days and housekeeping showed up only once. There was hair in the bathtub and the I couldn't even think of stepping barefoot on the carpet. Front desk was very helpful with my packages delivered from internet shopping, but we arrived at the hotel at noon and they told us check in time would be only at 3pm. There's no way you can use the pool. Location is not that good and we had to check out at 11 am! I definitely don't recommend this place.

Review is based on value for money. We got a great price for the room on Expedia.

Parking was included in the price and was easy, so that was a definite bonus. Views of the waterway on one side and the beach on the other (from top floors) was nice to have. The little deck on the waterway was a nice place to relax as well. The pool area was okay - a little run down but the pool looked clean enough. We didn't swim, so can't comment on the temperature. There appeared to be an old hot tub that is no longer working there. We didn't even know there was a fitness centre or restaurant - never saw them and no one told us about them.

Check in and out were both quick and pleasant. Staff at the front desk were always pleasant and helpful.

Great location a couple of blocks from the beach. We walked down to South Beach and took a local bus back to the hotel (I think the bus was $2 each).

Room was large, with a fridge, coffee maker and microwave. We were in two rooms, one had the promised extended tv channels, one didn't. One had working internet, one didn't. One had glasses to drink from, one didn't. One had shampoo/soap provided, one didn't.

Room was very very dark at night. Only one lamp and a couple of overhead lights. Most of the hallways did have an odd odour. The deadbolt lock didn't work but the regular lock that locks behind you when you close the door did. The carpets were horribly stained. The table in the room rocked back and forth until we stuck some newspaper under one of the legs. There was a dvd/clock radio, but it didn't work - we had our own alarm clock so this wasn't a problem. The bed was extremely comfortable - slept very well.

Overall, I would stay here again. The value was tremendous for Miami. It was a bit run down and certainly not everything was there or working though, so the price would have to be right. It's a shame because with a minimal amount of money spent on refurbishment, they could charge much more for these rooms.
