“Another Fantastic Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

My husband and I come back every year and stay for a week during the art fairs. We are immediately greeted by familiar faces by staff (Alleny, Pauline...) who remember us from year to year and go out of their way to make us feel welcome. We love the location, the pool, the boardwalk, the accommodations, but in the end, it comes down to the staff. They are so accommodating and wonderful. I will say that the beds and pillows are amazing (I sleep better than at home). Lastly, the spa...anyone within a thirty mile radius should visit the spa and get a massage from Jose. Magic. 11 months until my next visit...

Green Features: They definitely care about the environment. Their environmental practices are apparent everywhere in the hotel. Bravo!

My husband and I have stayed at the Palms twice. Both stays were wonderful. You don't come here for South Beach douchey-ness. It is an old school hotel with friendly, helpful staff, a good restaurant and a very nice spa. If you want to be in the middle of a "scene" this is not the place. What it is, is a wonderful place to kick back and relax. The beach is beautiful, and who doesn't love to poke a flag in the sand and have food and drinks brought to you? Last year, I showed up with a sprained ankle on crutches, and I swear the waiters would have carried me into the water if I had asked. They brought me ice for my ankle all day (and drinks too). It was a heavenly place to repair and recharge. The pool isn't fancy, but warm and nice. The music is chill rather than annoying and there are hammocks and hang out areas around the pool. We live in Florida, so take advantage of the "local" specials. The room with that deal is nothing fancy, but it is well appointed, clean and comfortable. Friends stayed recently on the ocean side and loved their oversized room with a view. I love the restaurant and the bar snacks are a steal for the area. Not to mention you can walk a block south and eat at a great Cuban diner. Also, there is a grocery store that is the last of its kind in the area that has EVERYTHING from flip flops to whole grilled snapper at the lunch counter. What more would one want? Nice people, good food, chill atmosphere and a beautiful beach! And...if you want to walk down to South Beach for a little chi chi evening it is a short jaunt down the boardwalk.

Room Tip: Cheaper "local special" rooms are on the city side and there was a wee bit of elevator noi...

This hotel is very good value, bering in mind the competition and it is in a good location, about 10 minute walk to Lincoln Road. The rooms are very adequate, well worth having an ocean view. Small bathrooms, with no tub.
The common parts and especially the elevators need both upgrading and updating, but bearing in mind the price, not too bad.
Would I return......yes

Room Tip: Corner ocean front room

Enjoyed a week of pampered luxury in the center penthouse suite. Beautiful views of the Atlantic, exceptional service and extraordinary breakfasts.

Can't wait to do this again. Go first class and you'll be treated accordingly. Spendy, but well worth it.

Check in was a breeze. The hotel is beautiful and the staff was amazing. I am sorry I don’t remember the name of the lady who helped us upon check-in, and the following day but she was friendly and very helpful. The beach was beautiful and clean. The boardwalk was a good walk, and the pool and area around the pool was kept nice and clean.
The grounds at the hotel are wonderful, giving one a relaxed and oasis feel.
We ate at the bar area once, and the food was great, and ate again at the pool, and it was consistently good. We walked from the hotel down to the south beach, it’s not too far of a walk (boardwalks help) but it was a great way to see the area and grab things to eat.
The hotel room was perfect, the bathroom is small, so can’t really have two people there at once, but still a good sized bathroom. Room service was stellar as well, however somehow our privacy card kept disappearing, even when inside the room (small thing, nothing that can’t be solved when room service comes knocking and you say you are still there)

My only complaint was the TV – it kept going off and on the entire time we had it on, it would shut itself off and come back on again.

Overall I would definitely stay here again, and again, it’s just convenient, far enough from the busy SoBe life but close enough where you can also enjoy it and head back for a good night sleep/rest.

Despite the unpleasantries last year, we dared to return to The Palms again this year during Art Basel/Miami. We could not have been more pleasantly surprised. The whole attitude of the place has changed from the manager to the front desk on down. Everyone was helpful, pleasant and nice. Our room was ok, but the view was magnificent. And the restaurant, Essencia, is one of the best finds in Miami. We look forward to returning again next year

While looking for a nice stay in Miami, i stumbled into this hotel. In South beach, although conveniently located on the quiet part of it, even though sorrounded by construction sites you can get good night's sleep. This said, you'll have to walk around 15 blocks to get to spot of the night life of south beach. The hotel itself is pretty on the eye both on the outside & the inside, facilities are nice, the bedroom's spacious with nice amenities. The downside may be the resort fee for $19 per night and the food at the restaurant feels pricey for what it offers but then again, it's south beach so I guess things are supposed to be pricey.
A nice little cafe and a small market within 3 minute walk. If you're seeking night life and famous spots you may look for something before 20th street, if not and something more balanced this is a nice option.

Room Tip: Both city and ocean view are nice and fairly quiet.
