“Lincoln Road with Marty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

I had the pleasure of a private tour with Marty yesterday. I was the only person attending and had him all to myself - which was quite a treat. Before we started he asked me about my interests and what I wanted to see since I was the only guest. I really appreciated his attention to detail and not wanting to repeat anything that I had seen on the Art Deco League tour last year (no repeats here!). Marty is easy to be with and incredibly knowledgeable about architecture. He told me many interesting stories and the history of the buildings and south Beach and the personalities that built it. We checked out some newly renovated hotel interiors and a few interesting store buildings. We even visited a parking garage which was fascinating. I highly recommend Art Deco Walks with Marty and Paula. We had a fun few hours together and it never felt boring or canned!

Our Lincoln Road tour, with its eclectic mix of art deco and Mediterranean architecture, now flanked by two 21st century showstoppers (the Frank Gehry New World Symphony and the Herzog & de Meuron parking installation), is one of our most popular tours. It was also a pleasure to guide this Washington DC area interior designer through a half dozen stunning lobbies and interiors that were able to provide inspiration for her design work. Come check out this tour for yourselves and/or pair it with our ever popular Ocean Drive & Beyond tour.

“Great walks”

Marty's walks are incredibly entertaining and informative. He was a delightful guide for a group of London architects on a New Year break

I have to admit that it is a bit daunting to meet 4 clients on the front porch of the Hotel Delano for a 10 am architectural walking tour, only to be informed that ALL FOUR are architects! And it is extremely flattering to learn from them that, while they themselves brought much to the tour, they learned so much more than they ever would have seen on their own. We are very proud of our Trip Advisor 2012 Certificate of Excellence, and believe strongly that offering top quality tours to discerning clients is the key to our success. It was this group's lucky day, as I was scheduled to lead a 4 pm docent tour of the stunning new Frank Gehry New World Symphony building (not open to the public), and they joined me for that tour, as well. I am the only Miami Beach tour guide who is also a docent at the New World Symphony (NWS), which allows me to lead private tours of the NWS building (at a nominal extra charge paid directly to NWS). There are so many exciting new things to see in South Beach these days -- come walk with us and find out for your self!

“Walking tour - SOFI (South of Fifth)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

I am a long time Miami resident and have visited the SOFI many times, but I saw it with new eyes with the help of Marty and Paula. They shared a bit of South Florida's colorful history and helped me appreciate the architecture. I learned a lot and had a great time on their walking tour.

We love when local residents see old haunts with new eyes on our tours! Our newly- launched "Secrets South of Fifth" tour explores the vibrant neighborhood South of Fifth (SoFi)Street in Miami Beach, where we guide visitors to the oldest hotel and restaurant in Miami Beach (each with their charming back stories), to the wonderful 1928 art deco Temple Beth El, now the Jewish Museum of Florida, and to the world famous 5th Street Gymnasium where Cassius Clay trained for his world championship. All these 'secrets' are set amidst a wide variety of architectural styles, from the earliest beach cottages, to 1930s art deco, 1950smmid-century modern & stunning 21st century buildings. Come walk with us, and discover these secrets for yourself!

“Great tour! Very Enriching AND Fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

I've been to South Beach on 3 prior occasions, but I learned a lot on this tour AND I had a wonderful time. Marty is passionate and engaging. You won't be bored. My in-laws weren't that excited about doing this tour before it started, but they've been raving about it ever since. You will learn about the history and architecture of the area. Even if you don't have much interest in either topic, you will enjoy this tour!

“Marty Mueller was excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

I am a resident of South Beach and occasionally I do the Art Deco walking tour when I have visitors from elsewhere. Recently (December 2012) I arranged for a specialized or private tour (in contrast to the group tours) with Marty Mueller (MM). By far, it was the best guided tour experience I've had in SoBe: MM was knowledgeable, fun, engaging and patient -- he seemed to have as much fun guiding the tour as the 4 of us in the tour were. I highly recommend doing the tour (group or private) with MM -- who also, BTW, volunteers at the Frank Gehry-designed New World Symphony building, which is definitely worth doing as well. THANKS, MM!
