“Very pleasant stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2010

My wife and I have just returned from the Miami Boat Show. While we were there we stayed at the Habana Libre Beach Resort. We were there a total of 2 nights and found the hotel to be a very nice and clean well run hotel. We arrived on Friday to a warm welcome by Wendell at the front desk. Our luggage was taken from our car and the car was valet parked. Our room on the 5th floor was large and comfortable and clean. The room amenities included a coffee maker a refrigerator plates and cups a flat panel TV with cable. One of the things I noticed is the room air conditioner was of the central type not the old style window type that so many of the older hotels have. To me the type at this hotel is very quiet and does the job very well. The lobby was pleasant with a art deco flair. We did not use the pool because we were there for business and had little time. The beach is just across the street. In my opinion this competent well run hotel and is a nice alternative to the very high priced South Beach hotels. Please understand this is not a true resort. It's a nice hotel in a convenient location in South Beach and for a nice get away for a weekend or a week this place is perfect.
My wife and I will be staying at this hotel again!

The best about this hotel is the location and the rooms..The service don't speak french, that's a shame but about the rest is a nice place to stay in holidays, rooms well prepared with everything you might need..

The room was tiny! We paid for a suite and we got a matchbox. Once the queen bed was open we had no room to move! We asked for a non-smoking room and when we opened the bed we saw a cigarette butt. The floor also smelled like smoke.
The queen bed (pull-out) was totally broken. We spent the first night sleeping on the floor.
We were also told that they provided a breakfast....we were not impressed by the selection.
The pool chairs were ripped and the only thing seperating us from the street was a tiny fence.
We were also told we had free access to pool chairs by the beach....never happened! We had to pay $10/person/day!!!!!
overall we would have loved to spend more money than stay in that dump.

I had a really nice experience at this hotel. I came down to miami for a fitness conference and stayed here instead of where the conference was. I'm really glad I stayed here. The room was really nice and clean. The staff was great. They were very helpful. It's a very laid back atmosphere here. It's not the Ritz, but if you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel that's clean and simple, this is your place. There was free breakfast in the morning. Cereal, toast and eggs. Something to get you started. I would return and stay here again.
