First, the location - on a very busy street in a run down area. There was a Denny's across the street with bums hanging out. Although one block to the boardwalk and beach, it felt like being in a depressed inner city.

The room - like a small apartment that was dingy and needed renovation. The bathroom was a joke, the smallest I've ever had. I had to close the bathroom door in order to access the sink. And the telephone in the bedroom didn't work.

All in all, a terrible choice.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and loved it. It was a fairly small hotel but beautifully kept and would definitely return to it. It is a bit of a walk to south beach but public buses are near by.

I glance over their site and boy did the site dissalusion me on the size of the rooms. Plz explain how a penthouse room has a 13 inch TV? The rugs in every room seem to be coming up. They have 2 Elevator and no stairs (except fire exit) so if you are on the second floor you must wait forever because the Villa Capri must have the worlds SLOWEST elevators. On average you wait 5 minutes for an elevator. Not what I want to waste time on on my vacation. The restaurant downstairs and the bar.... BAH. I titled this review the Pitz because this place likes to act like its a real nice hotel BUT it is HORRIBLE.

Avoid at all costs

My husband and I stayed here the first weekend in March. We had reservations at the Palm but they were overbooked so they got us a room at Villa Capri. It has a beautiful lobby, pool and bar. We had so much fun at the bar talking to the bartenders, they really made our stay wonderful. One even helped get us reservations at the Ritz for dinner (where we were also treated divinely!) though I didn't even want to leave the bar we were having so much fun! The hotel was quiet at night, the beds were nice and comfortable. The rooms were cozy and nothing like a typical chain, even an upscale one. We'll be back in December!
