“Great Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2014

Our experience at Red South Beach from booking until Check-Out was excellent. We had to make a last minute booking change and the Red South Beach was very accommodating and provided us with a great rate. The rooms were very clean and we always came back to a newly cleaned room each afternoon. The location is okay. You are about 12-15 blocks from the action of South Beach, but we made the walk a few times while cabbing other times and it was not too hateful. Finally the service at the front desk from a nice, young woman named Charlie was absolutely exceptional. All four days we were there she was full of energy and ready to help or provide us some advice on places to go, where to eat. Very good experience all in all.

Do not expect a luxury hotel wage booking. But it is a very cool boutique hotel with modern looking chairs and decor. The restaurant inside is small with a bar area off in the corner. The bartenders were extremely nice and provided great service. The drinks were a bit pricey but nothing different from anything else on South Beach. The hotel itself is close to the beach. They do give you chairs and towels, as well as a laptop if you want to borrow one! Pool also has free wi-fi. The pool area is cozy, but well kept. Many of the hotel guests can be seen hanging out here at any given time. Rooms need a bit of updating but other than that, we were happy with our visit. :)

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel, booked through booking.com. It was one of the cheapest hotels on South Beach and still very close to all the main attractions.
The beach is very close too.
The hotel room was ok and just the right size.
Just a bit noisy because of the A/C (it even made noise when it was turned off). However, I always sleep with earplugs so it was ok.
The bar is expensive as are all most of the places in Miami.

Dear Kati L:

Thank you for choosing to stay at RED South Beach. We are so happy that you found our hotel to be well situated, of good value and perfectly sized.

While our Magic City does offer some high priced beverages and activities, we do hope that you enjoyed some of the cost-saving amenities offered by RED including beach chairs, towel service, loaner laptops, local phone calls and a daily welcome drink to start your night off right.

Our apologies for the noisy A/C, I have passed on your notes to our FIX IT TEAM in order to better serve our future guests.

We look forward to having you as our guest again should your travel plans bring you again to South Florida.

I was first attracted to this hotel by thinking of the red south beach diet. When I looked online I saw that it was in close proximity to the beach. The color scheme seemed pretty catchy. I guess I went during Ultra festival and heavy construction work. I was greeted very kindly by a nice bell boy more than willing to not let me carry my bags one step to a pretty entertaining lobby to the right and and small bar and dinning area to the left. The concierge checked me in and offered me a free drink during happy hour that I more then willing accepted.

The elevator took awhile to arrive to the lobby I believe they only have 2 in a 7 story building. The room like many hotels windows don't open so ventilation is important . My room was a single queen . A lot of the red items could be replaced as they gotten their wear share. The carpet was kinda gross so I kept my socks and shoes on. The bathroom was small but modern . I love the mirrored doors in this room because it made it seem a lot bigger being I had a view of nothing , a brick wall of some sort. But I'm on vacation so I go down to the pool and realize space is a premium with the size of the pool. It wasn't inviting to me so I just lounged on the chairs that where 3 feet away from the ground floor pool cabana rooms. Check-out was easy after John Gotti gave the ok I didn't swipe anything, believe it or not I would go back it was a realistic stay for me nowhere is perfect. Would of been 5 stars if not for the rooms view and needed updating ! The lobby is awesome and the staff where all courteous !

Room Tip: Floors 6 and 7 will probably be your best bet ! You'll have to request a non courtyard view in a...

The pictures of the hotel were great and the reviews were pretty good as well. However the rooms were small not very updated. Furniture is cracking, walls dirty. Unfortunately we found a bug in our room..Samira (i think is her name) changed our room and was pretty understanding. Charlie the concierge is GREAT! Super nice and helpful. Not worth the price they charge

Hotel is situaed a 20 minute walk from downtown. The beach is only 1 minute away. Staff is friendly, rooms are small but okay, hotel itself is simpel and a bit overpriced. Lots of young guests and for that reason sometimes noisy.

Dear Elbee380:

Thank you for your review of RED South Beach and for taking the time to acknowledge our friendly staff and idyllic location just across the street from the beach.

We are sorry that you found the hotel to be overpriced, as we have a firm commitment to providing affordable, clean and comfortable accommodations to each of our guests. Your visit during Memorial Day Weekend is one of the most popular times of the year here in Miami Beach. In line with all of the hotels, you will see increased room rates during these peak periods.

We look forward to your return, please contact me directly (concierge@redsouthbeach.com) and we will be sure to reserve an extra quiet room for your next visit.

Stayed for just a day in the hotel. The "+"s

1. Located not too far from South beach (touristy destinations a small taxi ride away)
2. Interesting decor.
3. Lively hotel, friendly bartender and hotel staff
4. Not expensive when compared to some hotels around this place.

The "-"s:
1. The rooms are small (and old) and don't expect luxury.
