“Nice hotel”

this is a well rehabbed and very clean place. it is also a short walk across A1A and down a street to the beach. the bus goes by every five minutes and will take you to South Beach for $2.25. the front desk has plenty of change. one down side: the floors are tile, noise gets eched. I stayed on the first floor, and I could hear peole chatting as they waited for the elevator. Also, they charge a $12.99 resort fee which annoyed me because it is not a resort. (no pool, not on the beach, no free coffee) there are free papers, but they do not last so get one soon.

Room Tip: try an upstairs room which may be more quiet, and it would let you open your window

I prepaid for two days and checked out in the middle of the first night to go to Mt. Sinai Hospital's Emergency Room where I was treated for an acute stomach ailment.

The hotel refused to return any portion of the two nights paid.

It was very empty when I checked in and partially under construction. It did not appear as it does on the hotel's website. The room was also very noisy being a corner room on the street.

Room Tip: I'd stay away from it.

It is a good hotel, small but confortable. It is near the beach and the stores. There is a free park in front of the hotel (free at night). Bedroom was in a good condition. The people who work there was friendly.

this is a charming hotel architecturally, and the staff generally very nice. three things bugged us though:

1) the jacuzzi pool was closed by the department of health the day we got there and remained closed for the 6 days we were there. we were really looking forward to returning from long days of walking the many art fairs and soaking in the bubbles to relax and unwind

2) the ceiling air conditioner constantly dripped a huge pool of water in the middle of the room that we collected in a bucket, as it never got fixed during our stay

3) if you've got drunk people running around the lobby at 3am the sound carries very loudly and none of the staff did anything about it

Small boutique style hotel, older but part of the charm, wonderful sitting area just off lobby, soaring ceiling and interesting woodwork..spanish feel to it. We had booked a suite for 3 nights..great balcony overlooking the small park which is across the street and then the beach. Easy walk to Carrabbas (sp? ) restaurant. Breakfast room also pleasant. Makes a nice change from large impersonal hotels.

Room Tip: If you are going to entertain a large group, book penthouse, (2 available) HUGE balcony on the roof...

My family and I had a good time at the Claridge over New Years Eve 2013.
The room with two queen beds was as pictured and a nice balcony overlooking the parking lot and the sea from a distance. Bedroom was in good condition, bath could use some update.
Hard to find parking around and street parking you start paying at 8am until 6pm.
Beach is a 2 minutes walk, large sandy beach, great !

Breakfast was lovely, not about quantity but quality, all the basics were covered in a nice atmosphere.

The only major let down was the large jacuzzi ie. small splash pool for kids in the courtyard is under apparent renovation without any advise on when it would open again...
Management agreed to credit us back the small "resort fee" after our complaint that we were not advised before about the closed jacuzzi. We appreciate the jesture.

Overall a nice experience in a small, non chain hotel.

Very uncomfortable beds - room was dirty and not even cleaned and made one day - noisy!! You could listen what other guests were saying next room. There were shouts and noises in the same floor and I had to phone reception to ask for help. Nobody did anything.
