“Loved it!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

We loved this hotel. Stayed here in March 2013 for a few days. The room was big, clean, well furbished and very nice. The location was also very good. A few steps to the beach and directly situated on the ocean drive. 35 minutes walking to the shopping district. The hotel had a private walking path to the beach. The pools were big and clean and lovely situated between some palms. The service at the hotel was excellent. Even that the hotel was situated at ocean drive and near all restaurants it was very quiet at night in the room. Loved this hotel. Recommend this hotel for most people. I would like to come back!

I have probably traveled to Miami at least two dozen times and I never heard or noticed the Savoy. I came here for one night on a work trip on Valentine's Day 2013. It was quiet, peaceful and relaxing the pool area is nice and its oceanfront!

If you're looking to party it up on Ocean Drive its an excellent location, as you're right by all the action. You can also opt-out of that and enjoy restaurants like Prime 112 which is a few blocks away.

The rooms were clean, spacious for art deco building standards and the beds were super comfy. I really wish I could have stayed longer.

We came off a cruise line and wanted to spend a birthday night on South Beach. After reading tons of reviews from other hotels, we decided to stay one night at Savoy. Wow, it was a grand experiences! The hotel was clean, modern, classy decorated, friendly staff members, and a safe place to stay. We arrived hours before check-in, however, the front desk held our luggage until our room was ready. We had time to enjoy the pool, beach and walked around South Beach. No need for a car, since everything is walking distance. Walgreens stays open 7 days and 24 hours. There are lots of shops and eating places near the hotel.
Our suite was 321, with a side view of the street and pool area. The room was cozy, nicely decorated, spacious, two flat screens TV, three balcony, two bathrooms, and kitchen (microwave, frig, dishwasher, plenty of counter space). We needed an extra cot (approx.$45).
One night stay was outstanding. We called the front desk for a taxi ($32) to the airport. The taxi arrived on time. Enjoyed our one night stay! Its' quiet too. Enjoy your stay!

Room Tip: The suite on the third floor was a side view of the street and pool.

The Savoy is a spotless hotel with a fabulous private beach, located in the perfect area of South beach. It is far enough not to hear the noise of the fab south beach bars etc, however these action packed bars can be walked to in 2 mins!

The hotel itself is beautiful with a high standard of cleanliness, housekeeping changing towels, bed lining dail, however if you wish to reuse your towels etc that option is available. In addition, purse keeping while remake your bed after your afternoon nap, while you are out exploring. This evening visit from house keeping is free of charge and if you don't want this you can simply say no. Our bedroom was huge and had a large en suite with a double size shower and 'his and her' sinks epic!

Pool area and beach are is spotless and exhibits the most welcoming staff. A clean towel is availed for your and also sun loungers and free sun loungers on the private beach. Although I say 'free' you pay a daily fee of 10dollars (approx) per day, however this covers towels, daily papers, gym facilities(which are basic, but with south beach on your door step you will prob prefer to exercise there) and sun loungers etc.

The only thing that we were disappointed with was that our room (101) was on a corridor with a door that was very think, therefore if other guests where coming in at night and forgot to use 'indoor voices' we could hear everything and also the banging of other guest's rooms was rather annoying, however we didn't feel it was disturbing enough to complaints reception.

A great hotel with wonderful staff. Well done and thank you to TheSavoy for a pleasant stay.:)

I just got back from a trip with my girlfriends to South Beach. We loved the Savoy on Miami's South Beach. Our room was a 1 bedroom suite on the 3rd floor that overlooked the pool/garden area. It was a breathtaking view and we could also see the beach. I had read earlier reviews about the pullout sofa bed not being comfortable so I was a little nervous but ours was very comfortable. The rooms were very clean and I loved that the bedroom and the living room each had a balcony. There was a good sized flat screen TV on the wall in the living room and a smaller one on the wall in the bedroom. It was a little unfortunate that the room had a full kitchen but did not have any dishes or utensils. The bathroom fan was a bit obnoxious and loud but tolerable. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Whatever we asked, they came through. We really loved the beach. There are chairs and umbrellas just for the guests of the hotel and a waiter to take your food or drink order. The beach is beautiful and goes out for miles at waist level. The ocean is crystal clear and just gorgeous. There was always a nice breeze so you never got too hot...it was prefect. The location of the hotel is amazing as well. We could walk to everything but yet once you got back to the hotel...it was so nice and quiet. You forgot that you were in the middle of all the action. There is so much to do right around the hotel from bars, restaurants, nightclubs, shopping. You name it, you can walk to it. There is a super Walgreens convenience store 2 blocks away in case you forgot something or needed to pick up some snacks or drinks for the room. Nikki Beach was one of my favorite spots. Don’t forget to go there for Sunday Bruch from 11 – 4PM. Its only 2 blocks from the hotel. Oh and don't forget to bring lots of $$ to South Beach. It’s expensive - but worth it :-)

Room Tip: Get the 1 bedroom suite with a pool view

There is much to love about this hotel. I'd probably have given it 4.5 stars, but graded up to 5 because the people who work there are so nice (thank you!).

We had a large ocean view suite for our family of four. Not much privacy, but the room was big enough to fit in a portable bed cot and the fold-out sofa bed on one side of the room for our kids, and the king bed on the other side for us. All of the bedding was comfortable.

We loved the gorgeous views from our balconies, the pools, the beach just a few steps away. After staying here, I would never stay at any of the hotels off the beach in the party area. But we were there for fun and relaxing family time, not party time, so consider my perspective. I do hope the Savoy never turns into a "party hotel." Unfortunately, a few of the clientele were a bit obnoxious--shrieking from pool area at 6:30 a.m., talkin' trash around the pool later in the day--but certainly not the hotel's fault.

This is a solid 3-3.5 star hotel in terms of hotel rating scales. Every single staff person was so nice. Food and drinks served in the restaurant or pool side were good. My minor complaints about the room was a splattery stain on the carpet by the kitchenette area (red wine?) and soiled arms on the couch. Little things like that do get noticed by customers. Otherwise, the rooms was very clean and well-appointed, with bathrobes, slippers, nice bedding, marbled bathroom walls and floors, and chocolates on your pillows every night (all the pillows, kids too :).

I have to agree with the thin walls comment; we could hear the couple in the room next to us talking in bed a lot (thankfully that's all!); obvious our headboards were both against the same wall. We could hear the guests above us walking in their room, but they were not overly loud. One other thing; our room smelled like cigarette smoke when we first arrived, and it took me two days with open doors to get rid of the smell. I hope the previous clients got a huge fine. If not, they should have.

In summary, though, we really loved this hotel and found it perfect for our family trip. Highly recommend the suites for small families. I was so sad to leave that view on the balcony, I actually cried a little out there the last morning. We will definitely, definitely return. My request to Savoy--make sure you don't let obnoxious guests get away with noise or cigarette smoking in unauthorized areas, and keep this place wonderful and special, and we promise to be back!

Room Tip: Go for the ocean-view or pool suites with balconies.

When booking the hotel, I was looking for a quaint, non-mega resort, on-the-beach location in Miami Beach. This was EXACTLY what I got with the Savoy! Paid extra to get an ocean view suite and am glad I did...the 3rd floor, 3-balcony room was spacious and clean, and had great flat tv screens in both the living/dining room and the bedroom. The Ocean Drive location is perfect....within walking distance of everything, yet a few blocks from the noisy and crowded hotspots. Great meals at Big Pink (diner/burgers), Larios in the Beach and Quinn's all on Ocean Drive. The beach is spectacular however downside is the mediocre condition lounge chairs and very, very poor drink/food service. Each day I had to request service...and even then it was very slow and poor. But, it was better than nothing. An interesting mix of American and international guests staying on the property. I was never enticed to eat at the hotel restaurant, it never looked busy or even interested in customers. The bar was closed 2 of the nights I was there and when open, never had anyone in it. Overall, it was a quiet and relaxing stay and I will return.

Room Tip: Ocean view suite 309 looks out over the pool and toward the ocean. Spacious, quiet and lived the 3 b...
