We came here 3 years ago and loved it. Disappointed this time that our kitchenette was totally lacking utensils and cooking pots and pans. No dishwasher soap, nor sponges or dish soap.

We were told that the place had been bought and done over. Nothing much different from last time. What this place is crying out for are more spa-like amenities. I would love to get a massage while here. My daughters said they wish there was a hot tub.

What has been a big plus is the excellent staff. Everyone has been super courteous and helpful. The gal at the bar is really friendly and welcoming (forgot her name, she is from Chile). Everyone else is super!

The location is fantastic. I love the smaller, old fashioned setting.

Please don't let my "Very Good" rating dissuade you - this is a great place to stay in South Beach. It is not, however, a 5-star hotel. The pool is lovely, and the rooms are spacious, comfortable, and gracious, but the amenities are a little lacking. The general timbre of the service is attentive but not overwhelmingly gracious, while the public spaces need a bit of a freshening up. The maid service was also a bit spotty. Nothing to complain about, just not quite concerned with the details.

All that said, the Savoy is a fabulous stay in South Beach. As virtually every reviewer will tell you, it is just south of the main drag of Ocean Blvd - close to everything you want or need and just out of the way as to be away from the chaos. The hotel's section of the beach is about the most low key of anywhere in South Beach. My wife and I went w/ 4 of our teenage daughters. It was a perfect spot for all of us.

We got a decent rate, but I saw some that seemed a bit high (even for SoBe) given the level of finish and detail. On the other hand, you are right on the beach, so I guess a price hickey is expected. All in all, highly recommended. Great spot. Generous, comfortable rooms. Quiet, low-key pool/courtyard. We have been at other hotels in South Beach that I would consider 5-star. If we come back, we will very likely return to the Savoy.

In researching hotels for our recent six night stay on South Beach, the Savoy stood out because it seemed to offer resort amenities and close proximity to South Beach action while being far enough away for peace and quiet. It was exactly as advertised. The Savoy is pricey, but then again so are all the other hotels in the area where you'd want to stay. So if you've decided to spend the money and stay on South Beach, and be on the beach, this is the place. The pool area and access to the beach are great. Staff are all efficient and friendly, from front desk to pool/beach to housekeeping. Even before we arrived, we received quick, helpful responses to all of our questions via e-mail. The pool area is like an oasis (beautifully landscaped) and beach access makes the Savoy special. Most South Beach restaurants and shopping were within walking distance. One room suggestion I'd make is not to take a room that is part of an adjoining suite. Even though there is a locked door separating rooms in that set-up, the doors are not at all sound-proof and you can hear normal conversations and listen to the TV next door without trying. We asked for, and were given, a room change. But after that, our stay at the Savoy could not have been better. We would highly recommend the Savoy to others and would stay there again ourselves.

Room Tip: Don't get a room that is part of an adjoining suite unless you are booking both rooms. There is...

Dear MP,

Thanks for sharing your 5 STAR experience here at The Savoy Hotel!

We are delighted that we have exceeded your expectations and that you were pleased with the service you received, both prior and during your stay with us.

We do apologize that you had noisy neighbours - hopefully that didn't impact your stay very much :-(

Should you choose to visit Miami Beach again, we would love to have you as our guest!

I wanted to be near everything, I wanted a balcony to enjoy the evening warmth ( these are pretty scarce due to the nature of the art deco buildings) and I wanted a bit of a treat after a long cold winter, so I decided to blow the budget and book a couple of nights at The Savoy. Gotta say the location was perfect, and my ocean front suite had 3 balconies ! I was a bit worried that maybe I’d booked something too up market, but staff were lovely and it wasn’t at all pretentious or intimidating. The room was very comfortable, well decorated and all facilities were good. My only warning would be of hidden costs after your initial room rate – I knew that parking was $30 per day and there would be a resort fee of $15 - which was fair enough, but there is also state sales tax, Dade county tax, Miami Beach resort tax and room tax !!! Did I care ? – not really - Ocean Drive is iconic and now I can say I’ve been there and stayed at a wicked place too – it was great ! The only bad bit was driving away in my embarrassing little hire car and stacking up at the lights next to all those awesome convertibles lol!

I would rather not write this review because I want the savoy to remain a hidden gem. But it is really a great place to relax in south beach. You are in the heart of the deco area but located just across the street in a quiet oasis. The staff is great at the pool, the bar and in your room. the rooms are spacious--we stayed in an oceanfront suite-210-with 3 balconies over 1000 sq ft for a very reasonable cost--the food for lunch is phenomenal and the renovations were well done. And you are on the ocean! No streets to cross. You don't need to drive anywhere with all of the local restaurants. Finally the place is very clean and that means alot. I just don't want this place to become too well known but had to give it the props it deserves.

We stayed at the savoy 4 days during march. The hotel is really close to all south beach nightlife and shops but a couple of blocks away which allow us to rest and have a quiet time when needed.
The pool and beach access are an extra that not all hotels in the area have. The place around the pool is really beatiful and quiet to enjoy a nice day, but must consider a resort fee for each day.
The staff is really helpfull and always willing to help.
Regarding the rooms, they are clean and renovated, with minor details to improve that do not affect at all the pleasent stay.
I Would really recommend this hotel and hope to return soon.

We were in the Miami area for a week of exploration, flew into Miami and rented a vehicle. And the adventure began, starting from Lighthouse Point area to the north.... driving down to the Keys & Then back up to Miami and South Beach, we happen to stay last minute at "THE SAVOY HOTEL" for a couple of nights. It was a WOW! Starting with the General Manager -Gary Hyre.... to his remarkable staff - so many great staff like "ROCKY" the only regret is that we didn't spend the entire week there!!!! Pool is beautiful, private and exclusive. Beach is also right in front with all the amenities you would expect from a five star staff. We will be back !!!!
