The Lord Balfour is a GREAT hotel. I was traveling with family, friends, and business partners. We chose the Lord Balfour as a post-cruise option and we're definitely not sorry that we did. This hotel is down towards the quieter section of South Beach which is nice for a good night sleep.
Upon arrival we were greeted promptly and assistance was given with all of our luggage. Being greeted with a smile is extremely important in hospitality and we definitely got that here. Check-in was a breeze. Although our original room wasn't quite ready when we arrived, they quickly found an available room for us that happened to be overlooking Ocean Dr. Quite the nice touch if you ask me.
The hotel lobby was charming and artfully decorated. The artwork in the lobby changes often and is one of the best themes of the hotel.
The rooms were very comfortable and nicely decorated with Lord Balfour's Mistress in every room. ;) Ask for the details during your stay. It's quite the story.
The bathrooms are very small but very typical of hotels in that area and there isn't much they can do because the city of Miami Beach dictates the room sizes, etc. (Historic Property Regulations)
The staff are all very happy and accommodating and truly made our stay great.
One nice little secret about this hotel is the Lanai which was perfect for eating the selections found at the continental breakfast which had plenty of selections and things to fill that hunger gap after a nice walk on the beach.
The hotel also has beach access w/ chairs. Very nice for spending the day on the beach across the street.
I would highly recommend this hotel for Families and professional travelers who enjoy a comfortable, clean, and very safe hotel for a stay in one of the hottest areas around Miami.
