“Worth the expense to stay somewhere interesting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

Classy place at quiet end of the street. Good breakfast, small garden to enjoy it in. Beach area is average rather than gorgeous. Room and bathroom great though which was more important for me. Really nice restaurant right next door. Refreshingly normal sized portions, rather than standard, over the top American sized ones.

Room Tip: Corner room was good, didn't see others for comparison though

Spent one night here and loved it - one block from the beach - private beach club - great service. A special thanks to Richard Beauvais who went out of his way to help me with all my luggage:) Highly recomended!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in room no. 423 in the back of the house - and it was quiet and comfortable

Love the decor and loved more that it was an art deco building. Service was spectacular and beach access was easy to get to (literally across the street) with an umbrella and chairs for guests of the hotel. My only complaint was that the bathroom was a tad bit too small but otherwise a great little find.

It is always rewarding to read reviews praising our services, thank you Tammy G. The entire staff works very hard to please our customers and we know that this is what makes the Lord Balfour stand out in the Miami Beach market.
We hope to be of service on your next visit to our city.
Warm regards,
Mauricio Martins - General Manager

The rooms were kind of small, but we were not in them much. I just wanted to thank Devin Hartling & Raiza Areas for such GREAT service. Throughout our four days there during the July 4th weekend, they were both so nice and accomodating. Two of the best people I have ever had take care of me and my family in a hotel ever!

Booked this Hotel through travel agents so did not know what to expect. It is a boutique Hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are relatively small, but you have everything you require in the room. Rooms are clean. My room was a little noisy (421). There is a very small gym, but no pool. You have to pay a $20 a day "resort" fee (which I was not informed about) which apparently covers 2 loungers and an umbrella on the beach (which is good to have), and breakfast. Breakfast is BASIC. It would be nice if the hotel could provide a selection of meats, cheeses, boiled eggs etc for protein!! To much bread and pastries. The coffee could be stronger as well.

The staff are very friendly, professional and kind, and really try to look after you.

One tip - do not go out in the little courtyard in the back of the Hotel - I was badly bitten by mosquitos!! Or at least put protection on.

Wi fi is included and is a good speed.

Lord Balfour is not the largest hotel but when perfect especially for a short get away with your significant other. When I stayed their I thought it was absolutely beautiful. I truly enjoy the modern decor around the hotel and the variety of different art pieces. This first night was a tiny bit noisy but we were told the person working at the front desk he took care of him. Later throughout our stay, kendrick, the guy working at the front desk continued to be a great help as he was kind enough to tell us about different venues in Miami as well as bringing up things like towels and soap to our room whenever it was needed. I would have to say that this hotel has one of the best locations as well as extremely helpful staff members. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a short get away to miami beach.
