“Great Customer Service by Nicolas”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2014 via mobile

For the price and location this hotel is ok. What set it apart was the great customer service I received upon check-in by Nicolas. He completely accommodated my children and I and was very pleased he was able to do so. This definitely says a lot about a hotel when you feel your needs will be met. Thanks Nicolas for your great customer service and because of it I will refer people to go see you! Thanks again!

This is an absolutely disgusting establishments who treats a potential guest with no consideration whatsoever. They will also charge your card without authorization and you can't even speak to a manager on the phone. The front desk personal has no communication skills or manners either.

Room Tip: don't choose this hotel

Terrible. We stayed over the weekend (Friday till Sunday) on both nights the music in the lobby was extremely loud. No door seperates them lobby and bar from the 1st floor. The DJ played music until 2am before he turned the music down a bit. But the last (drunk) guest did not leave until 4.30 am. I asked several times to reduce the noise as I could hear every spoken word but noone cared.
Don't get me wrong: the location is good, the interior design is ok, and the rooms are clean. But how good does it do when you get no sleep?

Room Tip: Never take the first floor! they are extremly loud!

Good Afternoon Emmanuelle A,

We value all of our guests feedback and thank you for sharing yours with us! We are terribly sorry that your stay with us was less then enjoyable! Whitelaw Hotel is indeed a party hotel, and it clearly states that on our website. If you are looking for a more quiet and secluded stay, perhaps one of the other hotels in our group would be a better fit. We are in a killer location though, just in the heart of South Beach.

Stayed here two weeks ago overnight post cruise to the Bahamas . Our stay started off decent with Nicholas waiving our fee for early check in. Once in the room for over an hr someone freely busted into our room and saw my friend naked. She had just showered. Embarrassed and confused we immediately went to the front desk to make a complaint. Nicholas apologized and said it was probably the inventory guy coming to check the wet bar. We asked to speak to the manager and of course she wasn't on sight at the time and was given at business card with her number on it. She never returned our call and we tried to reach her several times during our stay. To make it even worse as we tried to rest in mid day after our long cruise there was a Hispanic lady cleaning the rooms and all you could hear was her yelling at the top if her lungs in Spanish to other workers. I even had to ask her to politely be quiet but I'm sure she didn't understand . Other then the peeping toms and loud Spanish speaking workers the overall stay was below average .

Hello there Kenya W,

We value all of our guests feedback, and would like to thank you for sharing yours with us! I see that we were able to waive the fee for checking in early! We are extremely sorry that someone came into your room without permission! I will make sure that all of our staff is aware that this is completely unacceptable! Our staff is not allowed into any room when guests are inside, without permission! This is never happen again! The General Manager has been out with limited access to her emails.

If you don't like to pay a lot this is hotel you need. It is clean and very conveniently located in south beach. Walking to the beach or stores are easy. Some limitations are: small restroom with not as perfect items inside some are broken and some not working well, not many closets, slow wifi, not all electric plugs on walls are working, small elevator, happy hour drinks are water based. Also little noisy since construction and south beach is close by to the hotel. Worse thing is AC, it is blowing to your face on top of sleeping bad, no way to stop it.
But overall this is hotel if you don't like to pay much, better than motel but not up to any known names.

Room Tip: Ask for higher floors, will be less noise.

We came to Miami to go to bimini bahamas but because of the weather it was canclled so we had to find a hotel at the last minute and all the hotels were booked by the beach that had a decent price except Whitelaw Hotel. It was a little high in price but compared to other hotels in that area, it was the best one and it ended up being worth it! The hotel is Art Deco and it is very interesting with the detail and colors. Check in was fine. No problems with customer service. The room was nice and had a frige and nice TV. I have no complaints there. Beds were comfortable. We stayed for 2 nights. The only little complaint is the shower doesnt have a door so water goes everywhere but we just made sure to have plenty of towels to clean up. There is a bar downstairs and it turns in to a party after 7. They have happy hour from 7-8 and if you are staying there you get free drinks! The bartender was great and I wish I had gotten her name. The hotel wasnt too noisy but if it had been I wouldnt have minded because theres a bar and music downstairs so what do you expect? I would recommend this hotel and I will stay there again the next time I'm in town! I was greatful they had a room available so we didnt have to sleep on the beach! lol!
