“Decent hotel in a great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2014

We spent a week here: a room at the back overlooking the pool. Very clean, bright and airy (with original pictures on the wall) and modern decor. We were on the 6th floor with a good view to the west.

It's a great location: one way is the beach (200m), the other way (100m) is Lincoln Mall, a pedestrian road with loads of restaurants and shops. It's between the two main roads that run up/down South Beach, off a side road, so there is not much traffic noise.

We chose this because it's a restored Art Deco building and it does retain this character. It's therefore a bit old, so if you are after something totally immaculate/modern this may not be for you. But we found it good and liked staying in a place with character.

The walls seemed to be quite thin (we clearly heard the neighbours a couple of times), but either the rooms next to us were mostly empty or people were quiet and it wasn't an issue.

The place isn't really geared-up for food (no sign of a restaurant) and we didn't try the buffet-style breakfast (plenty of great other places nearby). The bar area is a bit dark and we only had a drink there one night. They do serve drinks by the pool.

The staff were all very helpful and friendly.

There is a small exercise room at the other end of the pool and a shaded seating area beside the pool. There were always plenty of fresh towels and sun loungers, and the pool was clean.

The bath in the bathroom was very small, but that didn't bother us.

Stayed at this Hotel in May. The room was ok overlooked the pool and we enjoyed a good quality of sleep . The room was clean. The reception and staff apart from one male receptionist who booked us in on the evening we arrived (who seemed to be having a bad day). The rest of the staff were cheerful and helpful. We didnt have breakfast it was expensive. The pool was ok but a bit tired looking and in need of repair and a good lick of paint. The beach is only a short walk from the hotel regardless to what the hotel describes it does not have its own area on the beach in fact you have to pay the standard 20 USD for a sun lounger and 15 USD for a parasol per day. The hotel has a bar but no one seem to drink there as there's no atmosphere (perhaps a happy hour would help) Valet parking per day is 35 USD which is expensive.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the pool, it will be alot quieter

After numerous stays in Miami Beach and changing our original hotel reservation from another location we thought we would try Albion hotel. Our expectations were high and we were not disappointed. From our initial arrival the staff was pleasantly charming and eager to help from the Front desk to the maid staff. This includes George who greeted us at the door and met us each time with a contagious smile and hello.

The room was clean, good size and had ample towels as this is always a plus. The Albion also provides complementary beach towels, and showers for those who wish to go to the beach after they check out. Overall, we would gladly recommend the Albion hotel to anyone thinking about staying in South Beach or who maybe considering this location as their destination. We would gladly return to the Albion hotel on our next visit.

We stayed at the Albion for 3 nights in April before joining a cruise. The rooms were very spacious, we had 409 & 410, very comfy beds, adequate bathrooms all kept clean.i didn't hear any noticeable noises so can't agree with other comments. We needed a fridge due to having speciality milk so just asked Reception and within minutes we were provided with one. Staff all very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the pool which was fairly quiet and were grateful for the pool towels they supply. Tea & Coffee are complimentary in the morning but we did not try their breakfast. The location of this hotel is perfect, not too noisy but only a five minute stroll to a big choice of restaurants and bars, South Beach and Collins Ave. There is a big CVS opposite which is very handy.
South Beach area has a very Hispanic feel due to the large Cuban population which just gives it a great atmosphere. We hired some Boris style bikes, payable by credit card by the hour, and rode along the promenade adjacent to South Beach, great fun and all very flat terrain. Great shopping experiences for us Brits, as Uggs, Nike etc all a lot cheaper than at home even after you pay their taxes. All in all a great time can't wait to go back.

The hotel was in a great location. The Lincoln Road mall is practically round the corner as soon as you step out of the hotel. The beach is straight 5 minutes walk. The main streets Ocean Drive/Collins Avenue/Washinghton Avenue are around 10 minutes walk from the hotel too. The hotel was very good too. The rooms was big and you have room to roam around and the bathroom was a decent size too. We only had room only, but complimentary tea/coffee was included until 11am. Free wi-fi is also included, although the signal was dodgy at times. The pool is decent too. We asked for a mini fridge to be put in our room, so we could store water and soft drinks and this was done immediately. The supermarket and pharmacy are practically opposite the road. Overall, although the hotel is not 5 star by any means, it is a very good hotel with friendly staffs and I would stay there again if I was to visit Miami again.

What a very lovely place this area of Miami South Beach is. The hotel is cool and calm, the rooms lovely and clean. We stayed in room 606/608 which was far enough up (only the penthouse above us) to not hear the street noise at night.
The bathroom was not big but the beds were (two good size doubles) and very comfortable.
It's a stroll across the main drag (Collins Avenue) to the beach and a stroll down to YUCA for some crispy calamari and extremely delicious white wine called "whip" ( I think) it was a blend of about 5 grapes - all my favourites! If you're a Brit watch out for the tax on everything and....up to 20% service charge!
The pool at the Albion is wonderful - it was not busy and of course we had photos taken diving down to the portholes.
Tea and coffee is complimentary in the morning and the breakfast spread of fruit and pastries looked nice but we didn't eat in.
We did have a drink in the Albion bar one evening, there was only the two of us and with tax and service charge, two 125ml glasses cost $20. So, to prepare for evenings out, we bought some wine at $6.95 from across eth road but we came a cropper using the fridge to cool it. We got a polite notice not to use the mini bar as a fridge. Ah well, we popped across to CVS and got a bag of ice!
We had a great time and the staff were helpful and courteous.

Room Tip: Higher floors avoid night noise

Albion Hotel in South Beach is not a luxury hotel just a simple hotel with great staff. My only issue with hotel is you cannot store anything in the refrigerator. It was stock with candy and beer but if you take anything from it you would have to pay. Was cheaper going to CVS across street and get what you needed. My husband and I drink alot of water and we had to keep calling front desk to bring ice since there is no ice machine on any of the floors. Hotel is close to everything especially the Beach only a block away. Nice size pool, lots of restaurants in the area. Bedroom was a nice size for two, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was expensive, better just going out to one of the restaurants.
