“We had (again!) excellent stay at Albion Hotel - excellent location, fantastic service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2011

It was our 2nd visit at the Albion Hotel in timeframe less than 2yrs. We enjoyed it very much, thank you very much Albion Hotel and its professional staff! It was very relaxing week and we just cant wait to visit there again!

From the very first contact at the entrance door and all the way to the managerial level this Hotel works extremely well. They have probably the best and most kind bell captains in Miami South Beach, very helpful and pro-active front desk and I want to especially point out they have very special talent in their Revenue Manager who really understands the Hote business - understands very well the key issue: in the end of the day this is people's business in both a) paying attention in motivating the staff to reach the top level in guest service (which they really do at all times and make guests feel special) and 2) to treat and negotiate and most importantly fulfil client wishes as much as it is possible at the same time as running the business in numbers (we negotiated to have particular kind of room while having very much mutual understanding with Mr Revenue Manager and everything worked like in a movies).

I think the kind and proactive attitude towards guests is so so vital in these things and making them feel special and happy makes them come back everytime they are in Miami South Beach. I have each time felt Albion Hotel is very good especially at this and thats what has atleast happened to us (and we are very normal, but demanding North Europeans), we like to think we definately go back and we dont have to very much look other options as we have always been treated there so well.

Complete client experience in very "Miami style property" (when you walk in and look around the lobby, you understand what I mean) from the entrance door + very good room + nice pool + terrific & fantastic service = this all together makes it.

Rooms in my opinion are really nice; we got a top floor view to Lincoln Road which was my wish and even its fairly busy street also during night time, we still slept really well. Bathroom and its shower is very ok, even it looks like it could in ideal world need a bit remodeling, but it works and its comfortable. All the equipments are there what you need; CD/Radio, TV, Minibar, hairdryer, good and big enough closet for your clothes for even a bit longer stay and most importantly comfortable bed. Having said all that ofcourse you may find something which is way more luxiorious from some top name hotel, but thinking the price/quality ratio I think it fits the bill very well. I would like to think you can easily find and even pay more for a lot worse when we talk about the hotel room and its standards.

After that to reach good hotel experience, it helps they have these things: there is extremely nice pool in this hotel - lot bigger than in most of the Miami South Beach hotels and its been kept well. Towels available beside the pool, you dont have to bring one from your room or anything like that.

Also there is small fitness room, where you can maintain your condition and refresh yourself a bit. From the past it has been restructured a bit - there is no more so much weight lifting options (which in the past was my favourite, it was unusually good hotel gym at that time) but today its more cardio oriented these days. You can ofcourse do a lot of things with this dumbbell set which is there and adjustable training bench/seat, but in a longer run it gets a bit boring and for really "big boys" it might be too little. But again its ok and if you need more, then go to Golds Gym - 1400 Alton Road.

Added to the pool there is at the same level/attached to it very nice restaurant/cafe. Take a breakfast or have a lunch there - I guarantee you'll love it.

Location is perfect: just few steps and you are at the beach or walking down Collins Avenue to Oceans Dr. Or you might want to go shopping and having nice dinner and see the attractions what Lincoln Road offers. Its really good spot in the middle of everything.

We will definately go back there in the future!

The hotel would need a little renovation but was very pleasant. Right by the beach, pool, room service, bar... All good for a nice break except for the room, really a bit old. Good prices for south beach. No doubt about that.

The hotel was undergoing some kind of renewal work, walls in the hallways were unfinished. However, the room was comfortable and the bathroom very clean. The windows are on the thin side - quite some noise from the road. Great location, less than one block to Lincoln Road. Homeless people sleeping in the entryways of the stores across the street, but we never felt unsafe as there were so many people going around until very late at night. Breakfast is not included but you can purchase it (or go to Starbucks two blocks away on Lincoln). There is no parking at the hotel. We used their valet service for our car, everything was fine. There is a parking garage two blocks away from Lincoln though. Overall, everything was fine, but I guess you pay what you pay mostly because of the location.

The hotel is in a great location. Lincoln Road is the main shopping street in South Beach, and also has a good selection of restaurants and cafes. Ocean Drive is a short walk, and The Albion is quieter and calmer than the hotels on Ocean Drive. The rooms were small and basic, but clean (though our bed was very noisy, it squeaked every time you moved!). As with most hotels if you get a noisy neighbour you will be disturbed. The hotel has a proper swimming pool (i.e. it's not a splash pool, and you can swim lengths to excercise. The sun deck is calm and quiet. While it is an Art Deco building, it is modern on the inside (a plus or a negative, depending on your viewpoint).

If you wan't to stay somewhere stylish, not too expensive and slightly off the beaten track of Ocean Drive, then this is the place for you.
Penthouse room was small, but we knew that before we arrived and was stylish and perfectly comfortable. The swimming pool features in style & architecture mags and you can see why. Surrounding area can be a bit noisy because of neighbouring night club on Lincoln Boulevard but still a lot quieter than Ocean Drive.
If you are staying in Miami Beach, you will never forgive yourself if you stay in an ordinary hotel. This is not an ordinary hotel.
