I stayed for 4 nights/5days at the Ritz-Carlton. I had the leisure end of this stay, while my wife had the business end of this stay. It is not an inexpensive hotel but the service is beyond exceptional in all phases. From the valet, to doorman, conceirge to the check-in people, I have never felt so welcome to stay somewhere. Sometimes it seems a bit much, but I can see where "leading by example" helps makes the Ritz such a stellar hotel.
It has a fantastic infinity pool or so it seems. It is blended with many chaise lounge recliners surrounding the pool with thick mattress's. The Ritz poolside staff will sheet the chair in towels so after a swim, one can relax in these loungers to dry off. They also have sun patio beds ringing the beach side of the pool. Wait staff is there to handle all your drink & food orders. It is very family friendly as when I was swimming there were perhaps 10 kids in the pool, but it never seemed crowded.
The standard room has a Suite quality to it with a 40" flat screen TV and the standard bathroom have seperate bath, shower and water closet area's with double sinks. We had a partial ocean view and a view of the A/C systems of the adjacent hotel. The curtains overlapped very well to keep the room very dark at night if one wish it too. There was a lounge chair with ottoman, business desk & chair and King size firm bed with the "Heavenly Bedcovers" and lots of fluffy pillows. Ice machine was by elevator in its own closet. The room itself was very quiet and did not hear the eighbors.
We ate at the hotel and the meals were served hot & promptly. We also ventured out on the Lincoln Rd. Mall to shop, have dinner and go to a movie. We took many long walks on the Boardwalk and had a great meal at Larios on Ocean Blvd & 8th Ave.
We had a wonderful experience with the Ritz and the surrounding area. With the price of a 7 night cruise and airfare, a week at the Ritz is nearly the same price without as many people and more nightlife abounds in South Beach then any cruiseship.
