We had 5 nights at this hotel in July. I booked a room with 2 double beds to accommodate our family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 16 & 13. When we arrived we were advised that we could only have a room with 1 king size bed. There were no other rooms available for us to move to for the duration of our stay. The staff on the desk did not care one bit. They provided a rollaway for our room which meant that we could barely move and our 13 year old daughter had to share a bed with her parents. We have travelled as a family extensively over the past few years and I have booked 17 weeks accommodation during this time for our family. Never before have we had a problem like this and the ritz Carlton was the most expensive and highest star rated hotel we have ever stayed in. It was a real treat for our family to stay in a hotel like this but was the worst hotel experience we have had. They also tried to charge us for other guests meals on our bill which took some time at checkout for them to sort out as they wouldn't take our word for it and had to track down the receipts. When they discovered their error there was no apology or explanation. There were a couple of staff who were fantastic but most were aloof and unhelpful. A young child cut her foot on a broken tile on the steps of the pool and management were most attentive but 3 days later the tile had still not been fixed. The location was great but we wished that we had stayed at the Loewes hotel which was similar price and location and looked to have a much bigger and better pool! Some people seem to have a good stay here but I wouldn't risk it!!
