We were staying at the Catalina for one night and after walking around a bit up and down that part of Collins Ave - most of the restaurants were attached to a hotel - decided that the Maxine was the best place for a casual dinner in terms of location and ambience. Plus between 7-8 pm there was the comp happy hour for hotel guests so you could have most, if not all, the drinks with your meal for free (you do have to bring them from the bar yourself as they can't be served at the table). We sat outside and had a hamburger and fish taco, both were delicious. The live music was nice, and from our vantage point, plenty of entertaining action on the street but not as noisy and overwhelming as Ocean Drive. A place i'd happily return to next time I'm in SB.

Paxa, I hope you enjoyed your stay at the Catalina. I'm glad that you were able to take advantage of our happy hour specials and our great vantage point on Collins Avenue. It sounds like the food and ambiance hit the spot! I look forward to welcoming you back for more great food and people watching next time you're in South Beach.
