“Don't have to go Cuba for Cuban Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012

When planning a trip to the Miami/Miami Beach area, one of the things that you must do is taste the Cuban food in one of the better Cuban Restaurants.
If you want "fancy" atmosphere, it's not here. But if you want to eat some wonderful Cuban food, you shouldn't go anyplace else.
The Black beans are prepared perfectly. Soft and very tasty. The pecadillo can't be beat and comes with 2 sides. And the Media Noche was the best I've ever tasted. The waitstaff is one of the friendliest that you ever have the pleasure of being served by.
Would be a 5 if not for the lack of parking and the "down home" atmosphere.

“Good option for traditional Cuban if near Bel Harbour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012 via mobile

My wife and I were staying at the St. Regis and though trip advisor reviews found this traditional Cuban joint for lunch.

It's pretty basic inside but hostess and waiter were very friendly. For apps, we ordered a tamale and traditional ceviche - both were good.

I had the fish with salsa verde special and my wife had the shredded beef stew - portions are large so sharing might make sense.

Also of note, we found a fairly good wine store nearby where we got a good French bordeaux that we enjoyed on our St Regis balcony.

“The best Pizza in Miami”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

Nothing else to add. Just the best pizza i had in Miami.
right in Lincoln Rd, is a busy place, so make sure you have a reservation or you are willing to wait for a couple of minutes until the next table is available.

“Sazon Cuban restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

Dinner at this local North Miami Beach location was worth the trip. We had the chicken with black beans and rice. Very good food and service. Our server was friendly and gave us great suggestions. The atmosphere was that of an upscale neighborhood establishment. As another reviewer had mentioned the bread they brought to the table was toasted and buttered which made them tasted like a grilled cheese without the cheese. Service was very good and price were also very good. Parking after 6pm is free on the street as is the beach parking nearby.

“A great experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

We wanted to try an authentic Cuban cuisine restaurant, and chose Sazon based on TripAdvisor reviews. It is a lovely, airy restaurant, a taxi drive from our hotel further down on Collins Avenue. The staff were very friendly - our waitress was very sweet, and understanding of our odd, foreign palates!
I tried their recommended mojito - yum! Their wine list was also in good order.
We tried a mixed starter, and then chose various main courses. In general, we found the portions to be too big (but I would say most Europeans find most American portions too big!) - the portions could have fed another family! The cuisine is obviously very different to what we are used to, but it was all well-made, and tasty. Even the teenagers ate their main course up!
If you are not from Miami, and want to try something new and authentic, then I certainly would recommend this restaurant.
