“Great tour, informative and friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2014

We had a fantastic time, the tour really brought to life what Art Deco means to Miami specifically and how perceptions of these buildings have changed over the years locally.
We really benefited from the small numbers on the tour and were able to enter buildings and rooftops that would otherwise not be possible. The details and background provided were thorough and passionately delivered by a local resident and this really helped to bring everything to life.
Highly recommended.

“A Great Tour!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2014

This is a two hour tour of parts of South Beach which we took in March and offered by Art Deco Tours with Christine and Company. Groups are small so that access to places not usually allowed are possible. We were extremely fortunate to have Christine as our guide. She is charismatic and knowledgeable about a myriad of subjects, and fortunately one of her loves is the Art Deco buildings, artifacts, and architecture of South Beach. She knows just about everything regarding this colorful area and has interviewed countless people on the history, culture, and styles. If you are interested in the Art Deco era in the United States, this is the tour for you! You receive information on the exterior and interior of the 1930s-40s buildings that were revitalized in the 1980s by interest in “Miami Vice” and are treated to a Pina Colada on top of one of the buildings overlooking the entire area. You also are emailed a summary of the tour when you return home.

“Enjoyed the local color”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2014

My wife and I have visited South Beach before but knew nothing of the architecture and history. Robert (our guide) has lived in the area for over 30 years. He gave us great background on the most important art deco locations. Visiting the lobby of one of these old hotels and learning exactly why it's unique and historic was the best part of the tour.

“Don't miss this!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2014

Highlight of our trip.

Our guide met us promptly and started with a brief introduction to the tour and himself. He was charming and informative.

We moved from place to place and he was sure to answer our questions and entertain us with stories of Miami Beach.

He brought us to places we could not have gone without the tour, behind the scenes to see details and up high to see the views. And through it all we were entertained and educated.

This is a very high rating for me and deserved.

“Guess I expected more?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2014 via mobile

I guess I expected more given past reviews. The tour was good, but not great given price + expected tip. It was more about the history of Miami Beach and less about the actual building architecture. Tour went a little long for the amount of information delivered (2 1/2 was our tour duration) and was sometimes the delivery of info was scattered and some things were repeated by the guide.

One suggestion would be to receive a postcard size list of best/current Art Deco bldgs to view on own, and/or list of architectural highlights of an Art Deco building and/or a historical summary of significant info/people in the development of Miami Beach during the tour as a keep sake & summary of the day. Best if the tour was kept to less than 2 hours.

Hello Kelly!
I'm so sorry we did not meet your expectations. We take pride in catering to our client's requests. Based on your notes in the reservation, you had indicated "garden variety" and that your daughter was very interested in history. Given that Robert is the history buff of all the guides, we felt he would be the best guide to heighten your experience. Yes Robert tends to go over the 2 hours as an added bonus which most clients appreciate.

Naturally we were disappointed to learn you wanted more information on architecture and we could certainly delivered that experience and more!

One of our standards is to email you highlights of the tour after the tour. Given that you booked through the Zerve system, we do not receive your email address from Zerve until weeks later. But your feedback provides us valuable feedback to improve upon our current operation.

The postcard is an excellent idea!

Thank you again for your time.
Come back soon to Miami and we'll ensure to meet or exceed your expectations!
