“Perfect location! ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

What I liked the most was perfect localisation of this hotel. Close both to the beach and to the main street. It was clean and nicely decorated. Breakfasts basic but really taste. Air-condition worked with no problems.

This hotel on South Beach Miami appears clean on the outside and in the lobby. The staff is very friendly. The hotel smells very clean and the room was somewhat clean however the bathroom was a bit dirty - needs some attention to detail. Walking away I would have given this hotel an okay rating but when I got home that day from my stay at Townhouse my leg started itching horribly and I had a strand of bites on my leg which I knew to be bed bug bites. I am very familiar with how these bites feel and look, and they tipically don't show up until up to a day later after being bitten. I informed the hotel and let them know but I feel others should know too. If these bugs crawl into your bag or travel on your clothes you can bring them home and end up costing you thousands of dollars in extermination and a huge head ache. Larger chain hotels routinely exterminate to prevent bed bugs and the Townhouse should do the same. I will not stay here again just for that.

Room Tip: good location, close to beach

Location
The Townnouse is located at the north end of South beach on 20th street. Everything is pretty much in walking distance such as the beach (a few minutes), Lincoln road shopping mall (10minutes) & start of Ocean drive (10minutes). It is a perfect location that is just off the main strip on a side street, so level of noise at night is low. Witihin immediate area is some clothes shops, a Mediterranean fast food place and some other restaurants such as Nobu next door. Walgreen’s, liquor stores and souvenir shops are all within 5 minutes walk away. Some of the high-end boutique hotels are also very close by.
Room
The room located on the 1st floor (non smoking floor) was fairly spacious and the decor presented a minimal boutique beach hotel feel. The double bed was soft and comfortable , a large wooden bed side board is all connected to bed and runs along the back wall. It also acts as a luggage rack and includes a IPod/old Iphone connector Alarm clock and telephone. There is a nice hanging lamp above the bed with easy to access switch that has a dimmer function - easy to turn off.Plenty of plugs are also behind the bed. The bed itself contains one huge pillow and two small ones, I slept well and found it comfortable. In the corner of the room was a bench style seating with table, ideal for eating upright and perhaps working on a computer. Another decorative lamp with mellow lighting is offered in this corner.
A huge flat screen faces the bed on the wall but did not check what channels are on offer.
There is a small bathroom that offered a shower only but also had generous hotel branded soap, shampoo gel and body lotion along with sufficient towels. Oppoiste this is a small cuboard which is where you can hang your clothes and also a large safe (enough room for a laptop, though hard to get it as on top shelf. In addition a fridge is offered but only mini hotel branded water bottles are there (@$3 each). The room were clean and overall for the price paid, just over $100 off season was a good rate for a comfortable room.
Facilities
This hotel offers secure WIFI for multiple devices, at times a little slow but still was free. There is strangely a exercise bike in the floor corridor at the end, there to use. There is no pool or other gym equipment that I was aware off. On the ground floor is a restaurant that is used for breakfast which is complimentary. This only includes some breads and about 4 different bagels, Philadelphia cheese as well as cereals and juice. There is also a roof top terrace with many loungers and a bar offered. IN addition for $10 for up to 3 hours you can hire the hotel bicycles, great for cyclone the scenic boardwalk along the beach. They also hand out beach towels at reception so no need to bring your own or use one from the rooms. Also some snacks are offered and lotions etc in the lobby plus complimentary coffee and water machine.
Staff
Staff for south beach & I used to work there (generally has a poor rep) were actually really nice, welcoming and clear with information. Nicest staff of all hotels I have stayed at in Miami previously.
Overall would definitely return to this hotel if the price was right. It is a perfect location and exceptional value for money (off season).

Room Tip: Non smoking floor is 1st floor.

Amenities: No exercise room that we could find. There was a nice rooftop bar and seating area, as well as a basement bar. Continental breakfast was standard fare - good, filling.

Service: Staff were very polite, gave us beach towels, maps and suggestions on places to visit. I would visit again on this point alone.

Pricing: We went during low season and it was very, very reasonably priced.

Location: Very near the beach, a number of good restaurants, and Lincoln Ave. Excellent.

Rooms: Personally I loved the decor. Simple, a little sterile, with a splash of playful color. I was expecting a perfect white as per the pictures but of course the rooms are a little faded. However, they keep the lobby pretty much pearl white.

Verdict: Good for a short stay while you visit the city. It's comfortable to rest in the lobby or rooftop. Would visit again.

I checked out of the Townhouse hotel exactly a week ago today, and this entire past week I have been contemplating of what exactly I would say in my review, however, I don't have anything good to say and I don't have anything bad to say either. The hotel is near everything, which was good, it had a walk way area to the beach but it was not the popular side of the beach. Yes the other reviews were true when they say the room gave off a clinical feel, the decorations are basic and hospital like. The bed was comfortable however, and they do have black out curtains. The greatest thing about the hotel was the inside of the room everything else creeped me out from the smell to the look. Townhouse hotel did not leave a bad taste in my mouth , but its definitely a place I will never try again. Only book this hotel if you plan to be out all day.

Room Tip: Try to book the presidential suite

Townhouse Hotel was the truth. Tucked away right off of Collins and only feet away from the beach. Affordable rooms and very very clean with free breakfast and beach towels included. The staff were very accommodating also. Can't wait to return.

I won't say this was a great hotel, it's not. The rooms are small and if the extremely bare look appeals to you, you might even like them. To us it looked way too austere, reminding us of hospital rooms. I don't think they look like the pictures.
But that's just the room, somewhere you hopefully won't be spending too much time anyway.
The location is great, on Collin's avenue. You can walk to Ocean Drive and tons of restaurants and hotels (Try La Sandwicherie!). The beach is practically under the hotel, it's that close. Service is quick and efficient. Beach umbrellas, chairs and bikes are available to rent. Free beach towels and Wifi. We went up to the rooftop when it was empty-the view isn't much, though.
Breakfast was better than expected. The extra star is for the freshly squeezed orange juice!

Room Tip: Try to get the penthouse rooms if available
